I still think O2, for what it is, is one of the easiest modeling programs i've ever used... it does the Job it was intended to do. smile_o.gif

The easiest one is Zbrush.

It is brutally simple and so effective especially for organic modeling.

i want to see how u create a good grenade in 20s....

why do guys always do everything in a hurry eh ( :P)

the quality counts no the time factor... ( in any respect ;) )

each modelling prog has its own advantages and disadvantages...

since ur modding for ofp its best to use oxy directly...

so u dont have any importing troubles....

In my opinion, Milkshape 3D is one of the easiest 3D modeling programs going, but that's probably because that's the one I started to learn how to model with, and I haven't tried many others; just 3DS Max which I mainly use for things I can't do in MS3D (bump mapping, renders, better smoothing and UV mapping) and O2, which I've found to be extremely easy to use. I just can't remember the hotkeys that well, and it lacks an extrude tool (in the freebie 'light' version anyhow).

Here is a sample work with Zbrush2.

The advantage of it is that you can take a 2K-3K poly model and transform it into this over 1 mln polys.

zbrush8bd.th.jpg

It works flawlessly with that amount. It's just a beginning so don't sweat. When you finish this, creating all the material bumps and cool stuff, you'll be able to export it to ANY modelling soft there is.

I use Max and I can "project" it onto an old model (2K-3K polys) making it look like a 1 mln model with all bumps and shadows.

And that ain't textured yet.

So, please BIS make a proper export/import pluggins for Pro tools like Max. smile_o.gif

Quote[/b] ]u need more then 20s for that.. unless ur kinda cyborg...

I didn't believed it aswell. You know, i'm more the sceptical typ of human being.. so i downloaded Wings3d and played around with it a lil'bit.. wink_o.gif

..and d***.. it RULEZ!! biggrin_o.gif

I'm not to familiar with it yet to create handgrenades in several seconds. But you do stuff like wine glasses and cups within something like 20 seconds! Even as newbie after using it only since 10 minutes!

Guys, get out and try it.. you'll need about an hour to understand most of its basic functions - but you will love the increase in workflow. What i really love on it is it's texturing system:

YOu can create UVmaps simply in the program itself. The thing i really missed in O2 is an extrude feature - wings3d has more than thet biggrin_o.gif

Go get out and try it!!

i dont see the sense in using another 3d prog besides oxy when it comes to ofp...

the whole exporting/importing creates more problems then necessary

oxygen is layed out to be used for lowpolygonal objects that work in ofp not any 40k poly models..

thats my opinion though
