G'day guys & girls.

Pictures first:

You may remember a thread from a couple of months back about some pistols that needed texturing.  Well, I finally got my act together and did it myself.  

As you can see, it's a Browning High Power 'Standard' with teak grips and target sights.  The slide is animated and a unit from the Resistance side is included.  I've just mailed it to Operation Flashpoint CZ and I'll post the download links when they have them up.

I'm working on some Canadian Forces Jet Pilots/SARTechs/Helo pilots. I had planned on using your excellent p226 to arm them, but I also wanted to cover the earlier era of Canadian sidearms and do the Hi-power. I figured I would have to tackle it myself, and resigned myself to having my crappy hi power alongside your nice sig. Like an early xmas present, here it is... and it's far better than my skills would allow.

Yeah, I'm thinking about a black High-Power Practical or Mk 3.  I'm also thinking about a silenced version, but I haven't been able to find any pics/literature on silenced Brownings.  If anyone could help with this it would be ace!

Okay, I had the day off so I decided to spend that time making a Browning HP Mk3.  Check out the pics:

As you can see, it's the same model with new grips, new sights and a different hammer.  There's also a silenced version chucked in for good measure.  Seeing as Operation Flashpoint CZ still hasn't put up version 1.0, I'll try and get version 1.1 (which will include all these goodies) to them ASAP.

Yes they are. In the book "The Nemesis File" they use that to get read of the players, they name the gun "The border special". Very polemic book by the way.

I'll have some good use for this guns for sure. SAS anyone?

hmmm... fiction and fact are two different things, but i am speaking from a british forces point of view... we only silence the sig if i remember correctly...  

I might be wrong, but I seem to remember Andy McNab make a mention of a silenced Browning High Power in his book "Bravo Two Zero".  I think he said that the SAS had used them in the past, but none were available at the time of Desert Storm.

Anyway, if anyone has any evidence could they post pictures or links?

Mmmm....there are silenced HP's, but I'm not shure about MK3's.

However, great work... but IMO a bit to acurate. I can hit enemys at over 200m without problems.

But I have a new favorite pistol now.

Hi, i remember that the Browning Hight Power silencer was 45cm long, and that silencer looks half of that; but the guns looks very good. And i don't know that Mk3... but as the silencer it's designed to fit into a specialy designed barrell with spiral at the wrong side... and the Browning High Powers use basically the Colt M1911 design, u should be able of change the barrel from the one made with the spiral for the silencer in a Mk3; but im not sure, i don't know the Mk3 specs. Let's cu

This looks nice, my only concern is it takes 5-6 rounds in the chest at close range to drop somebody. That cant be right can it?

Um, do you suck?    Just kidding!

If you check out the config.cpp, you'll see that the Browning just inherits the Glock ammo.  The reason it may be taking 5-6 round to drop someone would probably have more to do with the iron sight.  I had some trouble with the optics texture - it was a little off centre so you'd hit a bit to the left of what you were aiming at.  I thought I'd fixed that.  Seems not.  Oh, well.  Seems like there's going to be a v1.2!

I admit, I took a few liberties with the silencer.  But 45 cm?    That's over twice the length of the pistol!  However, I would like to make the weapon as faithful to the original as possible.  Do you have pictures?  If so, post the links.

Ha!  FN actually made a version where the sight could be adjusted to hit a target at 1000 metres!  Sounds like your kind of gun, hey LennyD?

Okay, there probably will be a v1.2.  As well as the above changes I'm going to fix the back of the slide so it looks more realistic.  I'm also a bit uncomfortable with the name of the Resistance unit with the silenced Mk.3.  "Black Op" sounds a bit too US of A.  How does "guerrilla" sound?

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

I meant it actually takes 5-6 hits in thier chest to kill them. None of the shots miss as im stood right in front of them.
