MilitiaSniper 0 Posted May 21, 2005 Ok guys, I finished my Civil War Mission. It's based on the CSA Infantry unit from my home state of Florida. (Company K, 8th Florida Infantry) I did some research and discovered they were at the Battle of Gettysburg. I tried to make it accurate as possible. Please give it a try. This is my first mission in quite awhile. No bugs have been found. This was beta tested! Here are some screen shots. Please post your opinion on the mission. Sincerely, MilitiaSniper    :uncles
Ironsight 1 Posted May 21, 2005 Nice, will try this out right away
Ironsight 1 Posted May 21, 2005 Just tried it out and it's a nice mission. It's too bad that the mission is fairly short (played it out in a minute) and that's it's very easy to win if you just run to the artillery and attack them in their back. Maybe you should consider adding more infantry units to the North side and a bit less to the South side (to keep it playable )
MilitiaSniper 0 Posted May 21, 2005 Well your suspose to stay in your ranks! LOL! But this version is 1.0. I want to get feedback. I put more CSA than USA. Because of the artillery and musket fire till they get close enough to the Union lines! But was I able to capture the era and feel on the time? Everyone who plays it let me know. I am thinking about putting some reenforcements in it. Like what really happened! But, I haven't made a mission in awhile. Sincerely, MilitiaSniper
Ironsight 1 Posted May 21, 2005 But was I able to capture the era and feel on the time? Definately Quote[/b] ]I am thinking about putting some reenforcements in it. Do that. Now it's just too short
MilitiaSniper 0 Posted May 21, 2005 Not a problem. I can throw some more out there. I also wanted to make it pc friendly for lower running pc's. But I will add more Union troops for you guys with faster computers! I'll post it here in a day! Sincerely, MilitiaSniper
MilitiaSniper 0 Posted May 22, 2005 3rd Jul. 1863v1.5 Update Ok.., I added some more troops. Not alot.., about 8-10 more Union Troops! But it does make a big difference. I recommend you using "Save" sometime in the game! But the game overall plays out the same! The new version should say v1.5 on the zip file! I would love to hear back form you all. Good or bad! Sincerely, MilitiaSniper
cozza 24 Posted May 22, 2005 just downloading new version now. I like Civil War missions
Fork122 0 Posted May 22, 2005 Nice job with the editing on the screenshots Militiasniper I'm gonna give the mission a try; I'll tell you what I think tomorrow.
MilitiaSniper 0 Posted May 22, 2005 So what do you guys think? Worth playing? I'm working on a new mission! With bayonet fighting may be added. Sincerely, MilitiaSniper
Sepe 1 Posted May 22, 2005 Great! I love that marching towards the enemy lines, and then fighting in the line. By the way, it's easy to win even when staying in line. Just crouch and shoot the arty gunners first. Voila, no more explosions breaking ranks.
MilitiaSniper 0 Posted May 22, 2005 Well the hardest part is marching while in ranks, under musket and artillery fire. Your thinking, "Please don't let it be me!" Sincerely, MilitiaSniper
Triglav 0 Posted May 22, 2005 Tried it. Excellent atmosphere! Battle sound effects sure add a lot to it! Maybe you could start it further away and order fire further too. Usually units shot from distances of 120-250 yards.

ProfTournesol 956 Posted May 22, 2005 It's very nice. I send to you via email some musicians. Maybe you could use them. The bayonet charge could be made through waypoints ("never fire" and full speed until they reach the canons..). And as Triglav said, you could make units walk in line from further (very stressfull...) and then : charge quickly...
Sepe 1 Posted May 22, 2005 Your thinking, "Please don't let it be me!" You said it! Last time I played it, both guys on my sides were killed by cannon fire when marching... Ow, that was kinda *phew* when I only was injured. Unfortunately my hands were shaking after that, maybe because of the bleeding, maybe because I was so scared of dying, and it was quite tricky to kill those bluecoats. For the sequel or whatever: If you want more music from me, I could send you some. At least the Kentucky battle song could be cool for the intro. And of course, the full lenght Dixie instead of the one provided by the mod. Maybe some after-war music for the outro too? (No, I'm not going to send you those 'kill all niggas' songs, I hate 'em and I don't want anybody else to hear them if they haven't done that. Yuck! ) EDIT: By the way, the intro needs some work. The beginning ain't cinematics, it's just the 3rd person view...
cozza 24 Posted May 23, 2005 I didnt play it. My crappy comp is to slow
MilitiaSniper 0 Posted May 23, 2005 So guys.., Was it worth playing? (Updated Version 1.5!) Was I able to capture the era? How would you like for me to make it better. IF..? You think something needs to be better? Sincerely, MilitiaSniper
Inferior Being 0 Posted May 25, 2005 Prof: Why can't the rest of us have your scripts? Why can't you just post a download link? This mod is pretty much dependant on scripts like the "Staying in Line" thing, you know!
ProfTournesol 956 Posted May 26, 2005 Well, you can depbo the militia sniper mission or message me if you wanna it (need you email). This script is only usefull for cwmod or napoleonic mod, so i thought it should be released through missions...
Inferior Being 0 Posted May 26, 2005 I can see that, yes. But how do you... do that? You know, "De-Pbo" it? I'd hate to bother you with something everybody allready knows, but then again, I live to annoy. Anyway, I tried E-mailing you yesterday through this forum, but you haven't replied yet, so obviously, I did something wrong. Just like me to screw up in pressing the "Send" button... And I figured I probably allready did have it somehow, because I could play it without errors. I thought perhaps it was described in the ReadMe-file, because I couldn't open it. By the way, while you're all generous on us lesser beings, (And Inferior Beings.), could you send me your other scripts as well? You know, the stretcher-thing, wounded soldiers etc. and so on? Please? I just realized that I'm somewhat of a ProfTournesol-fanboy... Marry me, Prof!! *EDIT* Oh yeah. My Email is "www.tangatrond@yahoo.no". *EDIT 2* ...And ooh, I got them... gonna download now... mmmhh... sweet... *Manic giggling...*.
deathsai 0 Posted May 28, 2005 I could use the "staying in line" script that he used, too, and maybe a de-pboed version of this mission that I could use in the Mission Editor. I don't know how to de-pbo anything. deathsai@valp.net is my e-mail.
ProfTournesol 956 Posted May 29, 2005 Didn't know this script would be so successfull... Quote[/b] ]I just realized that I'm somewhat of a ProfTournesol-fanboy... Marry me, Prof! mmm...no, thanks... @deathsai : done.
MilitiaSniper 0 Posted May 30, 2005 I remember why I stopped making missions! I just got 4 out of 10 at the OFPEC. But Hey..! Can't win them all! I think the only way you get a good review with them is to.., Donate a crap load of money! If you like it! Then I'm happy! Do you all think I should make another Civil War Mission? MilitiaSniper
jankyballs 0 Posted May 30, 2005 Great Job Militia Sniper!! You should definantly make another Civil War mission. Infact, make tons of them!
