igor drukov 0 Posted February 25, 2005 Hey there ! [edit] Here's the final version of "A Bridge To Bar", unless some major bug is reported. The Plot : A few hours before Market Garden, you are a Pathfinder dropped over Holland to destroy a bridge. The mission aims at securing the Drop-Zone of oncoming paratroopers and cut the road of German reinforcements. The features : Changes made from the first version : * SEVEN different endings : 3 medals (included the much coveted medal of honor), 1 plain victory, 3 defeats ; * Adjustable difficulty settings ; * More firefight after the destruction of the bridge ; * Intro (no big deal, though) * Outro (id.) Unchanged : * Custom effects you can turn on or off according to the mod you want to play in (ecp, fdf, whatever...) ; * Tactical retrieving of your men after the drop through a user-friendly dialog ; * Easily deployable mortars and MGs, wherever and whenever you want (you just have to find guys that carry some) ; * US and German troops shout on the battlefield ; * Replayability because of the high randomization of the scripts' parameters ; * Potentially endless lag-free firefights because of the use of finely tuned, carefully crafted spawning scripts ; * A lot of other surprises as you move on... The required AddOns : Havelte Island Invasion 1944 Full Demo Their Beta grass WW2EC D-Day Pack Trenchfeet's C47 I hope you will enjoy playing it as much as I did designing, fine-tuning and testing it. All credits are in the ReadMe file. DOWNLOAD THE MISSION (690 KB) You will find the mission under the name : "WW2: A Bridge to Bar". [/edit] Pathfinderly Yours, Ig. The_Oakster 0 Posted February 25, 2005 I put all the addons you link to in a folder called WW2 and inv44 demo has its own folder but when starting with the shortcut -mod=;res;i44demo;WW2;llaumax I get the following error message: Missing addons:erba, eca_usweapons, mtyc47 I have D/L all the addons you posted, erba is in the addons folder so is mtyc47 Any ideas? Blanco 0 Posted February 25, 2005 Igor something 's wrong... I have made a modfolder especially for your mission, I've added only the addons I need to be sure... I start the mission and i see this : [imghttp://users.telenet.be/blanco/Scripts/error.jpg[/img]>100kb What's missing? I've dowloaded all the addons (except Invdemo1.2, I'm sure I got the right one) again from the links you provide to make sure I don't have old versions. igor drukov 0 Posted February 25, 2005 Gentlemen, Thank you for your interest and SORRY for this setback. Hopefully the problem is fixed, it is the link to WW2ec D-Day pack which was faulty : it linked to version 1.0, whereas the latest one is 1.11. I have corrected the mistake in my first post, but here is the correct link again anyway : D-Day pack 1.11 Sorry for the waste of time, Igor [edit] P.S. : The_Oakster, the way I see it, there is something wrong with your folder. Are you sure the names of your folders and in your shortcut match ? I am looking for another mistake from my part, but I think I checked everything (*crosses fingers*). Bear with me, let me know if you still can't play it. [/edit]
Blanco 0 Posted February 25, 2005 Ok, it works now. Lagfree mission and cool watersplashes (first impression)
The_Oakster 0 Posted February 26, 2005 Yippee, It works now, the problem with the erba and mtyc47 addon was that I had created the mod folder but forgot to put in the Addons folder. I havent got time to play it now, but when I just checked it, it said somewhere over...etc, and then it looked like it was going to play a cutscene but then it came up with the map and objectives, is that correct? igor drukov 0 Posted February 26, 2005 Glad to hear you fixed that, The_Oakster The mission has no cutscene whatsoever, I am really bad at them . cool watersplashes Hum, these effects must come from the mod you played the mission in, they are not mine. Honestly, my effects are quite humble, it is only for those who do not use mods and want a bit of lagfree eye-candy . I have just uploaded a version with slightly user-friendlier dialogs and a more detailed briefing on how to use them. Btw, the mission download weighs 640 KB. ExLaX 0 Posted March 2, 2005 I loved this mission; I'd love to see more from you. I thought the machinegun/mortar deployment was a great addition, as was grouping up with the squad following the paradrop.
