Drongo69 117 Posted February 25, 2005 I spent the afternoon converting my old instant action mission to Nampack 2. Features: - Play as Marine Force Recon - Weapon selection - 30 Random locations (Ia Drang) - Random enemies (VC) with random loadouts - Random support Get it here
Sepe 1 Posted February 25, 2005 Sounds pretty interesting. Meh goes testing.
dmakatra 1 Posted February 25, 2005 You should be able to set the difficutly IMO. This is too easy! Also, I don't think that MFRs is the correct unit for this type of mission. Other than that, good. I love 'Nam.
sanctuary 19 Posted February 25, 2005 Just tested 3 times this mission, and i like it. Maybe it should need a second objective , but for a randomized firefight, it is really well done Interesting to play the same thing on a different place , the first mission was in an open +/- flat open place, not really tactic fight, the second one was forcing me to climb a hill defended by the VC units and the 3rd place was in the middle of the jungle for an good dawn timed fight. Refreshing.
Drongo69 117 Posted February 26, 2005 Thanks for the feedback. @dmakra: What kind of units do you think should be used instead of MFR? I don't know much about Nam. Anyway, people can edit the spawn_west\spawn_squad.sqs file to change it to what they want. Also, the skill of the enemy units can be easily defined in the init.sqs. Just change one variable (the init file has basic documentation). This could boost the difficulty. @Sanctuary: What kind of objective would you recommend? Anyway, the main point of this mission is to make it easy for people to make their own instant fire fights. I think the scripts are easy to edit, even for people with little to no experience at OFP editing. With a bit of cut and paste people can have any addons they like slugging it out on any island they want within 30 minutes or so. Cheers.
sanctuary 19 Posted March 2, 2005 I was thinking on keeping objectives simple, as it remains an instant firefigh mission. In the actual state , the objective is to go from point A to point B , removing the enemy opposition in the progress. Maybe adding a point C as the second objective could be interesting : move from point A to point B , removing the enemy opposition in the progress, then move to point C where another enemy opposition is waiting to be eliminated. I don't really know if it would not put a too much impact on the ressource to have a second "random" objective, but if it is possible without hurting the framerate it should had more replay-ability to this already excellent instant firefight
