Operation Iron Spector

This is a MOD i havent been able to get up off the ground. it hasn't even been started in terms of a team, but, heres my idea:

    May 8 2006: Paris, France

    A big terrorist attack hits the Eiffel Tower. The great sculpture falls to a disturbing end caused by men that are beleived to be from Germany. The records show that all the men were born in Germany and had trained in a disclosed location before intering France. The UN is divided on what to do, and the country under fire is none other that Germany. The US and British intellegence agencies point the gun elsewere, to a little known rebel group. Russia and Germany find themselfes in a heap of trouble two months after when France delclares war on Germany and warns Russia to keep out of the war (Russian is beleived to be the aid in the attack by false reports). US and British Embasadors warn France of possable intervention and share their views on the war (along with reports on who did it). France declines the views and starts out a guerrilla campaingn with Russian using Chechneya as a tool againt them.

    You are a US Covert Op sent to France to slow French Mobilisation and find out more about the little known rebel force. You are to leave no sign of US military involement with France. the British are doing there best to stop mobilisation too, so be on the look out for a real "James Bond" .They might mistake you for a rebel!

Sounds differant don't it? France declaring war against Germany. This MOD will call for some Addon Makers and Mission Makers alike (not to mention Map Makers). But it will feature covert missions through French countryside, sabotoage, and Recon missions.

Anyone up to the challange?

now THAT is the only downer on it, but good idea nether the less, why not just use MMP and op frenchpoint units?

well... i would but it just doesn't set well. you know. its like people stealing other peoples work and passing it off like it was its own. not that its like a big copy-cat scenario. its just that there is something that makes you feel better when you make something.

but on the other hand all of the missions are not just Covert Ops, it has a twisted plot

Well here's the problem. I don't think anybody is going to try and remake French and US units when there are already many out there. To be quite honest, it would EXTREMELY difficult to top the OFrP French units. Theirs are amongst the top addons in the OFP community. Ditto for all the fantastic US units out there. If I were you I would concentrate on just making a great campaign using OFrP, MMP, Russian, and US units already made. Otherwise it would take a big team of highly skilled addon makers, mission makers, scripters, and texture artists to make what you want within any reasonable amount of time. If you manage to get a few addon makers, it'll take you many many months if not years.

The units are already out there, so again, it would make a lot more sense to just concentrate on making a campaign with pre-existing units.

never tried Frenchpoitn units. but i have tried BAS Delta/Rangers. they might work... but theres one prob with your suggestion. i still need an addon maker to make the units for the Rebel forces (also you will never see a Russian Solder in the Campaign).

i would use HYK's infantry pack as they have the best US army and US SF solidiers, BAS rangers are kinda outdated now

If you want guerillas check out the ones in the DKM/VIT Russian APC pack.  It contains not only APC's (on both Russian and guerilla sides) but also heavy machine guns, ATGM's, and really nice looking Chechnyan type guerillas.  

Also definitely try out the OFrP troops and vehicles.  They have EXTREMELY good armored cars, trucks, helicopters and fighter aircraft.  Their helicopters I regard as some of the best in OFP ranking up there with the BAS helicopters.

The Guerrillas will have to be specialy made, i'm looking for something that i bet no-one has asked before. pluse the patch will have to be on them
