shinRaiden 0 Posted January 18, 2005 I made a few textures for a little model I'm working on. The textures are all desert tan in general color. I got them on the model thank's to Brsseb's tutorials, but in buldozer and ingame the colors are well on the blue side of grey. Oxygen and Pantool and Texview show the correct colors. Any ideas? I started pushing buttons at random, and "recalulate normals" fixed it a little, but not enough.
Footmunch 0 Posted January 18, 2005 Have you tried a simple cube or plane* with the same textures? If you converted from tga->paa, try tga->pac instead. And vice versa. Try converting the paa/pac files _back_ to tga. Open them with texview, then 'Save as', and enter test.tga as the file name. See if the blue-ness exists in the new tga file. * - That's a plane as in a flat surface, rather than an aeroplane
shinRaiden 0 Posted January 18, 2005 Converted them back and forth, no luck.
Footmunch 0 Posted January 19, 2005 Does look a bit odd. Could it be reversed? Try selecting all the faces and hitting W. Try sharp edges? Select all again (Ctrl-A) and hit U. Then hit F5 to recalculate the normals. You can PM me with a link for the p3d and textures, if you like.
Odin -AEF-Kampa- 0 Posted January 19, 2005 Select all Points -> Shift+E -> Lighting -> Half lighted/Always in Shadow Try on of those
shinRaiden 0 Posted January 19, 2005 Thanks, it's fixed. The lighting was set for "Always in Shadow", and I changed it to "Half Lighted."
hardrock 1 Posted January 19, 2005 Thanks, it's fixed. The lighting was set for "Always in Shadow", and I changed it to "Half Lighted." "Normal" should do fine though.
shinRaiden 0 Posted January 21, 2005 Well, it was half-way fixed, Odin and Hardrock pointed to half the problem. The other half was the sharp edges as suggested by Footmunch. Thanks much.
