The worst thing that could happen is the computer would not boot and required a cmos reset (AFAIK). Not very complex. wink_o.gif

how do i do that incase something goes to hell?  tounge_o.gif

EDIT: i got NF7-Sv2.0  btw

EDIT2: the old 1 is PC2700 and the new is PC3200....... as u sayd b4 the ram will get the speed to the slowest ram.. does that means that my PC3200 ram will only be PC2700 to ?

or is it only the mhz ?

You can do a CMOS reset by switching off the computer completely and unplugging it. Find the CMOS jumper on your motherboard (it'll tell you where in the manual), move it to the "clear" position for about 30 seconds, move it back (that's important smile_o.gif), then switch the computer back on again.

I recommend upgrading to a gig. Helps a lot of problems with loadnig and stuttering, especiall if you play online in any games including flashpoint.

I have two 256 mb ram pieces and if i had a 512 mb ram stick will my comp run better or the same? tounge_o.gif

thinking about getting a new ram memory stick to upgrade my computer bynew years eve unclesam.gif to improve performance, i will have to get a another harddrive so i can have room for ofp stuff and some of the school stuff i want to keep biggrin_o.gif right now my 80 gig harddrive has 18 gig of freespace and its dropping for every week or something tounge_o.gif

making missions and addons, and fixing homepage stuff for school and other stuff that way starts to get heavy on the comp. in the long run.

It might run worse/not run at all If you mix and match Brands and Speeds. wink_o.gif

I think what he means is, if he removes the two 256mb sticks, and replaces them both with just one 512mb stick, will there be any improvement.

Depends. IF the 2x256 are setup right in a dual-channel system, there is a little plus there. Otherwise, you're better off with the 1x512 so you can add more later.
