Mr_Tea 0 Posted November 25, 2004 After upgrading my Computer from 512MB to 1024MB, OFP is running without the use of the -nomap parameter.I tested OFP with activated Mod`s (FDF, Y2K3, DXdll) and more than 1GB other Addons. Would the use of -nomap still benefit my Systems Performane ore will it decrease the Performance of mine and other Systems with more than 1GB RAM? Yes, I know that FDF and Y2k3 don`t work together, but if you call 1. FDF 2.Y2K3 you can use the FDF Islands and all changes made by Y2K3.
sanctuary 19 Posted November 25, 2004 add command line option -nomap, which will use more compatible way of accessing files, at some performance penalty.
Placebo 29 Posted November 25, 2004 Would the use of -nomap still benefit my Systems Performane ore will it decrease the Performance of mine and other Systems with more than 1GB RAM? Wouldn't the simplest way to find out be to run a few tests by playing the same mission (for example battlefield single player mission) and seeing the FPS with -nomap and the FPS without? Mr_Tea 0 Posted November 25, 2004 @ Placebo Good Idea, will try out later. Many thanks Tested Battlefield with and without nomap, no difference in performance.I get around 7-15 fps (with Y2k3). I`m sure I will get higher framerates without Y2K3, but that would mean i have to play with the original BIS Units, and they are, hmmm, let`s say it this way, a little  bit outdated.
