EveronVetsAgainstTheWar 1 Posted January 10, 2002 How come when in a boat like a PBR or the Soviet equivalent, you cant move from the Driver's to the Gunner's position? It would really help when you are by yourself and you wanna go out on the water then move over to the gunner and fire on the coast.

sergeant rock 3 Posted January 10, 2002 More importantly to me would be the ability to swim. I've parachuted into the water a couple times when I've been shot down in my heli, only to drown. How dumb is that a highly trained soldier can't even do the doggy-paddle. But getting back to your idea, seeing that you can switch positions in a tank, I agree you should be able to in a PBR. MDRZulu 0 Posted January 10, 2002 Hmm I seem to be able to walk around fine on a moving boat. Maybe you need some new shoes Vitoal.

<span id='postcolor'> Well if you parachuted wouldn't all your equipment and rigging drag you down. Don't know how much the kit of a fully clothed and battle dressed soldier is, but it must be a lot. Plus getting it all of in the water while it is dragging you down must be hard. Not really an issue to me. COLINMAN
Espectro (DayZ) 0 Posted January 10, 2002 Its not like a hind-pilot carries 10 satchel charges, 4 riffles and stuff. The only thing they really got is the gun. And i find it sad to drown 10 meters from the beach.
R. Gerschwarzenge 0 Posted January 10, 2002 People drown in bathtubs and that's pretty sad too.
christophercles 0 Posted January 10, 2002 Ive got a model of a pbr sitting right next to me here, and i wouldnt like to be sliding across the front of that thing to get into a gunners seat for one, it wouldnt be very easy, especially with waves and 2 itd take quite a while, not to mention youd probably get shot while doing it. Also you make the point about changing positions in tanks- in the t72 (or the t80 i cant remember) the turret actually has an auto reloader, so you actually cant get from the gunners to the drivers seat without getting out of the tank. So i suppose if they make an exception for the tank, they should make it for the boats. also as a side note- The iraqis removed the auto reloader from thier tanks because of the unreliability of them. Fat lot of good it did them though.
