LCVP

Recommended Posts

OK so I've started to make a landing craft, mainly for myself but figure I might as well release it but I'm wanting some input on what to include in it. Below is a quick, low quality pic of it so far, you can't see very much detail from here. Oh and also does anyone know a good Lock Down Cargo script for addons, can't seem to find one on ofpec that was suggested to me.

The craft will be based on the British LCVP which is a landing craft which can carry troops, cargo and/or vehicles. It will not be entirely accurate, just based on the design.

Maybe we need new cargo loks scripts.

Gosh, I allways wanted something to move vehicles and troops in the water, just make sure that them scripts, if you find them are MP compatible.

Good choice mate.

@CERO.

OK so I've totally changed the look of it. It looks so much more like the British LCVP now...here is a pic, it isn't anywhere near finished but just thought I'd post it. (I'm going to try and make it more like the real one that I originally planned)

Doesn't look like there's much interest, never mind. Anyways I need your help.

I can't find any standing up proxies and even if I could, with a vehcile there I couldn't stop the people from standing where the vehicle is...if you don't know what I mean nevermind, you'll see when its released...but could the cargo sit like this, on the side? Does it look a bit unrealistic? sad_o.gif

you dont need a standing proxy just make a regular cargo proxy and in the config you can define how they will sit or stand in the back, kinda like this

<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">

cargoAction[] = {ManActPBRDriver};

Yeah I'll make them standing. If they're PBR driver they'll have their arms out so does anyone know the name of any standing soldiers just with guns on back?

Thanks for comments so far.

Nope, didn't seem to be much interest so got rid of it. Sorry! Pretty sure I don't have the model anymore either. Damn.

Hey edejl could you make it a pretty random barge texture-wise? So it could be used by civilians and all as a small ferry to carry vehicles (this thought was inspired by the opening of the movie "Lost World" from the JP series) - also giving it used textures (like with lotsa rust hehe) could make it feasible to exist anywhere and be put to use anywhere. wink_o.gifsmile_o.gif

Yeah once I get back into the swing of things I will start with the textures...never quite grasped how people got such good ones but I suppose you got to photograph them?

I will probably be making a British version first, cos I'm English and there will be a 'blank' version too.

Will have a look Friday, late afternoon GMT; redownload Oxygen etc.

Thanks for interest

How do you guys texture? Do you take photos or make them on photoshop or what? Some textures are really realistic and just wondered how everyone gets them?

Thanks

Hey.

I have'nt got the hang of texturing myself. What i've been trying is downloading some free textures and playing about with them in photoshop. I have some links to some free texture sites if you want them.? smile_o.gif

Could the leader (or anyone really) of Project UK Forces contact me on private message? I tried to email them but I think I got an error sent back.

I'm not sure if anyone from there will read this so if anyone knows the name of someone in it I'd be grateful. Thanks
