Hey all,

I'm in the process of making a matrix style map, I dont think i'll release it as its just a bit of fun but does anyone no of any of these units;

Standard generic rebels (matrix style, dark shirt black trousers boots, that sorta thing although anything will do)

SWAT Van (of any shape or description)

Any very Large city.

Also is there anyway of creating a bullet dodging script? like a probability of a bullet hitting somthing.

And finally does anyone know how to link a trigger to a key?

eg. E = setacctime 0.2

any help will be greatly appreciated

There are two units you could dl from almost any site, SF business man, and the "men in black" units, which are guys in black jackets and ties with pistols. Gaia is the only map with a really huge city.

by rebels i mean like this

neo and trinity

its not a great picture but it potrays what i'm looking for, for male and female characters.  nice and simple no jackets necissery... if you have units with jackets that'll be good to but i'm not that fussed. I'm sick and tired of people saying the matrix would never work when it really could. not the neo dodging bullets part but more hovercrafts/squiddies etc. it's nice to see some matrix stuff thanks phill

actaully it is possible to dodge...

i did it already u need to do a trick

i made a short cutsecne once with a custom soldier anim (animated in oxy ;P )

fist i created sripts

liek teh normal bullettime script with setacc etc

then a trigger with an event handler that detects the shot of a weapon

when the weapon i sfired teh scripts/ anims are run are run

the bullettiemon.sqs and teh bendanim (famous scene on roof top in matrix)

+ another trigger that creates a camera taht moves around the guy taht bends.....

voila matrix styleeeeeee whooo

but its tricky to get it sorted

ok fine, it is possible to dodge bullets! all the more reason to work on a mod!!!

Idea:

*Map with 2 islands (one the "real" world and one Matrix)

*teleportation is easy in ofp right? well click enter matrix from "real world" and teleport into a random phone booth or phone in a building add a green glow and some sounds from the movie and ta-da matrix.

*in "bullet time" (and i have no idea weather or not its possible but) you could use event handlers to "speed you up" depending on your level of skill is how much you speed up so it would create the illusion of bullet dodging and moveing at normal speed whilst everyone else is in slow motion. this would allow the player to dodge bullets themselves by moving out the way of one making it more interactive.

*obviously in multiplayer you cannot outsync the game by individually going into "bullet time" but can everone go at the same time?

*squiddies should be Ai controlled hunter killers mabye using similar scripts to zombies?

mabye a test pack should be created

eg:

squddies

hovercraft

agents

police (both police and agents to show the differance in speed during bullet time)

rebels (in and out of matrix)

Its a very ambitious project but i have seen harder problems overcome by the community of flashpoint. The project would give matrix fans in the community the initiative they need to start a full blown mod, and it would prove to us all once again that the only limits to this engine is your own determination.

the only way to create teh illusion of doging bullets meaning to step asid or so would be to use setvelocity as its imppossible to let teh player move at a diffrent setacc rate tehn the other players

but using setvelocity would mean to use it in a high rate

meanis u coudl get killed through that boost

( err...Ville-Valo666, that was an earlier pic..its already all done now, no importing of others' model or textures, everything done in 02 only, undergoing beta testing..full ( well almost!) functionality. wink_o.gif...unleashing soon onto the unsuspecting public..not a track vehicle for sure! )

I have always wanted to create a cityscape, and have an idea to cut down on the heavy p3d files lagging. This would probably be my last project before my leave is up. Anyone wanna join up? No mod....just a city scape island and a way to link up to the hinterland forest and sub urban areas by scripts - a way to cut down on creating bigger islands...to some would be a kinda of teleportation..but to others it will just be a toll booth into another part of the city.

pics?rock.gifwow_o.gif Better yet, why not i just release the addon? tounge_o.gif .....making this totally crushed every grain of my dull grey matter, from the model to the config to get it working just like the real thing, every part, the weapon, the movements, the sounds.......believe me, its mechwarrior in ofp, only better!!! I didnt even belive it would be possible, but heck! 5 words - the ofp engine is awesome!!!!! wow_o.gifwow_o.gifwow_o.gif
