Battle of Hokkaido with FDF problem

Recommended Posts

In the BOH mod it assigns random japanese faces to the Japanese troops, and just them not all the resistance side troops. Well in FDF that feature doesn't work and the JSDF troops end up with caucasian faces.

    Any one know how to get that feature to work while playing FDF? Please no "just don't play FDF with them" respones, I'm sure there is a real fix.

    Actually further more does any one else besides me have the BOH units? I never hear any one talk about them or post shots of them in combat photography. It's an exellent addon, very good textures and models. If you haven't tried it you should try them out I highly recomend them.

Hi Sputnik,

Yeah - I love the BOH mod. The upcoming Hokkaido island itself also looks great.

I've no idea why the faces aren't working with FDF though - perhaps FDF sets its own faces in the finmod config?

Cheers.

Hi Sputnik,

I have to agree with you that the BOH is a great mod and does seem to be little used.

About these faces....i have had the same problem without using any other mod besides FDF. I am not sure but it may have something to do with the actual models of the heads being given these face textures and not given the ability to set a new texture to overwrite them....as i said i don't know for sure.

It may have something to do with the FDF config....really not sure but you are not alone in this problem.

I think BOH mod is awesome...the problem is that they dont update their site very often and they dont come here and discuss their mod or post any pics or progress info.

I find it hard to stay interested when a mod does this.

The NAFP(Nogovan Armed Forces Project) mod is another one that seems to have gone this route.

Yeah, I actually gotta admit that the lack of news and the fact that their site is never updated has led me to believe the mod was dead. Is it still alive?

Well it's good to hear I'm not the only one with this problem. Hopefully some one can fix it. I thought it was pretty cool how you could place a resistance squad and a JSDF squad and only the JSDF would use the japanese faces. I always kind of wondered why BAS did do the same thing with their African Opfor pack.

    (Damn that was a long sentence. Me and puncuation are not friends.)

Agreed...I hope they don't die on us too. The Battle of Hokkaido mod started off strong now you don't hear anything from them anymore same with the nogovan forces team crazy_o.gif

You don't need to announce every time an addonmaker opens O2 up. Just because a team's quiet doesn't mean they're not doing anything. Thing is, in this community, there are a lot of whiners who complain if a mod team does regular updates because they're "teasing" us. So most teams have just said, "yeah, whatever" and only release the odd bit of news before a release.

Have you tried these solutions?

Quote[/b] ]FOR MISSION DESIGNERS

Project:: Battle Over Hokkaido ver1.2 Demo

This document is a tips and infomation for mission designers.

Ver 1.2 BOH units include a lot of script for an effect and an action.

Please utilize the following information by all means.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------

<< ABOUT AUTOMATIC ASSIGNMENT OF JAPANESE NAMES AND FACES >>

This is an optional function. You may not use it.

Once execute this, Japanese faces and names will set automatically.

That is, you don't need to setIdentity for each unit.

Even you have not execute, Japanese face will set automatically.

1) Open the description.ext and add #include under the class CfgIdentities.

Example:

class CfgIdentities

{

#include <BOHJSDF0\JapaneseID_List.h>

};

2) On the initial Briefing screen at start, the name of the soldiers in a players group  has not changed,

add the next line to the beginning of init.sqs.

When there is no init.sqs, please create it.

"[_x] exec {\BOHJSDF0\scripts\TypeCheck.sqs}" forEach units group player

And i agree, BOH is one of the most compreensive Mods in OFP, they released a lot of units, upgraded them and patched them countless times, they have SP missions,MP missions, a custom island and a mini campaign...oh, and its all top quality stuff,  i wonder what makes people think they are inactive  rock.gif

Hi All smile_o.gif

First, although it is a problem with "FDF Mod", our Mod is not created on the assumption that -mod option is used. This is because it is making to coexist with the unit of BIS, and config as much as possible into the policy.

Moreover, Mr. Anonymous_Gonbe of the author of a script is considered not to assume the coexistence with other Mod(s).

However, if there are countermeasures, it will include in a release next time.

And although it is the problem of the next release, since we the members are very busy, manufacture is behind very much (We think that there is nothing in the favorite Japanese of work wink_o.gif )However, activity continues. smile_o.gif

furthermore, serious me -- an individual trouble crazy_o.gif

The hardware key of my LightWave3D broke and it took out to repair. sad_o.gif

I cannot be used by the main tools and am in trouble.
