Holding weapons

This is so small but its something that always bugs me about OFP. When you look at units they seem to either have their hand straight through the middle of the muzzle or theyre holding an M60 like its an Mp5. The way that leverage works would make them disturbingly strong if thats true.

Even better you could have individual holding animations for all the weapons. Like with a rifle with a bipod, you would have one hand on the trigger and the other supporting the stock while lying down? that would be amazing to see

Even addons?

What about different foregrip placements and brands?

What about extended and folded stocks? Weapon variations?

That's the hell lot of anims.

I'd rather prefer a easy self anim adjust so that I could place hands wherever I want.

Individual holding animations for all weapons! REALISTIC...:D

Many games have this kind of anims and it looks nice.

It`s only a few guns, so they can do anims to each other, that`ll make OFP2 more realistic, and simply good looking. smile_o.gif

I agree with Gordy, an adjustable hand place anim thingymabob (is my ignorance showing?) would be the best thing. While individual holding anims mean that the system is not universal, and that would be rather bad for the modding community...

On a sidenote, I believe the word 'bipod' has been mentioned. I would just love to see weapons with working bipods (kind of like the MGs in Day of Defeat)...

So:

OFP2 with individual holding animations for all weapons - realistic and good looking

BUT

"bad for the modding community..."

I think there are more important things than weapon holding anims;)

There is another thing with "holding weapons":

It`ll be great too see weapon 3d model, when you are taking aim. Not only 2d view.

All modern games have that kind of aiming.

Uhh, why not make each weapon just have a sister animation file that defines where hands are and how high the weapon is held etc. Then all weapons made could have these things, you could have animations for firing from the hip with Uzis without affecting M16 anim.
