forget opf2 for a sec,... TrackIR for OPF!!!

Quote[/b] ]1. Adjust the device's sensitivity so that less of a head turn can result in more of a shift in screen view. That way you can keep your eye on the screen.

2. Adjust the device to be sensitive to head tilts, rather than turns. Again, you would get the same benefit of keep your eyes on the screen.

--------------

That's exactly how it works. You don't need to move your head very much to look behind you. The sensitivity is fully customizable. But it sure takes some customizing.

Hmmm, could be a good idea if the product was cheap - which it obviously isn't!! 300 dollars?!

Were do you get $300 dollars from? On the Naturalpoint site it's only $109.00

Naturalpoint

I have mine and it works somewhat with OFP as is. But with full support it would be great. I bought mine to use with LOMAC and IL2, and would never give it up.

I recently bought a TrackIR for Comanche/Hokum. It works amazingly well. In OFP it works great in the helicopter using the mouse look toggle to look around but once I start to fly using my joystick the Mouse look option is only limited to the weapon view and I can nolonger Shoulder check.

Anyone else experience this?

To add my thoughts to this old thread and debate. If BI could release the section of the code to MOD makers to write a native TrackIR support mod that would be a win/win. Apparently TrackIR is being considered for OFP2, perhaps this would be a good proving ground for the technology and open up the game to an added dimension of gameplay. $.02

Unfortunately, as far as i know everyone else experiences this.

I don't get the point of that limitation. Why to disable the ability to mouselook as soon as the joystick has been moved ?

Allow that i quote myself in a previous post of that thread as a reminder :

Quote[/b] ]as unfortunately for some weird reason if you move the joystick, mouse freelook is instantly deactivated sad_o.gif (I would assume that if such a device as trackir is emulating the mouse this is a good reason why it would not work ... give back freelook while piloting with Joystick plz, even if i dont have trackIR)

It must be somekind of mistake from BIS that the autocentering is always on in the latest patches??

Isnt it possible to easily (?? I have no clue about easy in this case...) fix that and release it, also, as 1.96. Nothing is changed except that so it shouldnt be incompatible with "the last official patch" so people that wants this feature can use it but the rest of the community doesnt have to upgrade.

I dont know anything about if this is possible or why its not possible but I hope...
