Master_Chief 0 Posted April 21, 2004 Does anyone know how the brightness and gamma levels are determined? Are they relative to your monitor's settings or do they just use their own arbitrary settings? I would like to know so I can match ofp to window's settings. When I take a screenshot in ofp and then paste it in psp, it is always different. I could manually get them close but is there a better way to figure out what settings to use? venmaster 0 Posted April 21, 2004 I'd like to know also. My screenshots look fine when OFP is running, but when OFP is closed and I look at the pictures, they are so dark, sometimes almost entirely black.
NeMeSiS 11 Posted April 21, 2004 maybe thats becuz u r running OFP in 16bit and windows in 32bit color?, altough im not sure about that
SpeedyDonkey 0 Posted April 21, 2004 The gamma and brightness level options in ofp are for ofp only. So yes, they will obviously appear darker in windows if you have a ofp set brighter then "normal"
Mister Frag 0 Posted April 21, 2004 One possible solution is to use a third-party screen capture program such as FRAPS instead of the built-in Windows screen capture. FRAPS saves screen captures as Windows Bitmap (.BMP) files, which are uncompressed, but have excellent color fidelity. You can obviously convert them to another more efficient format afterwards.
