Drill sarg needs you

The Drill SGT needs you. He/she has a wonderful .50 Caliber Barrett Sniper Rifle and a few hand guns with silencers. They are seriously the bomb though I have not tried them out, the models look to be perfect from the pictures.

He/She needs someone to texture them.

Please help him/her out so that she may be encouraged to release these ass kicking weapons!

The Everon Cartel has offered to help in the past, and the offer still stands.

We've been busy with other projects and real life stuff, so whatever we help with will have to wait in line, but please contact me Drill Sergeant if you're still interested and I'll give you an update. smile_o.gif

Drill Sergeant needs......to learn to texture, hes been moaning the last 2 years that nobody will make skins for him, take a leaf outa my book, and when you need a texturer but nobody is helping, LEARN FOR YOURSELF!

And i did try to help Drill Sergeant learn to texture, seems he has given up rock.gif

textureartists are worth their weight in gold, these days.

Almost every mod and addonstudio is in need of a texture artist. There are plenty of good modelers around, but a texture is what makes you addon good or bad. Look at marfy addons for example. He even made the BIS HMMWV look a million times better with a "simple" reskin.

I've seen a couple of DS weapons and most of them are very high-poly. Most details are supposed to be done by texturing. Although the weapons are awesome work, right now they are more suited for a game like counterstrike than OFP due to their high-poly count.

A note to defend DS;

You can't just learn how to texture. You need the right tools and skills. It's not easy and takes a LOT of time.

It is because of this shortage of texureartists that I love the idea that Edge started; Putting your textures in a zip file and on the internet for all to use. Not only does this create a uniform look among different addons, but it also helps those desperately in need of good textures.

Well now he insist on using high poly counts en could just start whit making simple textures like making a grey texture and then ad noise and set the saduration(I think) on 0, then he has a gun texture then he can Gizmomap and background map it on to his guns and it would problery not look so bad if he have smothed his model cause then OFP will take care of the basic shadows then later he could make the shadow himself to make it more reconiceable and small ditails He could also cut in real life pictures and get ditails from there( ofcause you would have to adjust the cuts whit noise,darknes and so on).

And since the are so frew textureartist it is just to get going.
