Respawning

I can make no sense whatsoever of snYpir's respawning tutorial. Not surprising, I can't make sense of scripting at all. I've tried tutorials, but more often than not I'll mispell something critical or whatnot and spend the next 2 hours looking for it, if I even get into the files before being lost in confusion. I don't understand scripting at all. So what I need is a script where 4 Russian men (called Officer1, Officer2, and so on) are calling in respawns, and as long as they are alive 4 russian groups, one for each Officer, continue respawning and throwing themselves at a wall of artillery and Germans.

Now, I have the artillery, I have the Germans, and the Russians, but I need a scripted to please make some sense out of scripts for me.

Also, I was wondering if I could get a script where Russian auto respawn everytime a full group is killed. A new group respawns, boards onto some boats, and proceed to the landing area. Once all the Russians are off, the landing boat disappears, not destroyed, because I don't want 50 empty boats sitting on the beach dragging my FPS to a halt. When a Russian group gets killed, a new group respawns, boards the boats (also, one where they are already in the boats), unloads, the boat disappears, and the Russians hurl themselves at machine guns.

They arn't all that hard mate, im not too sure about this myself but i know how to "Revive Respawn" and respawn for vs missions... im a bit iffy with coop respawning but i believe you put the respawn type and the delay in the mission description.ext file...

By the way on this topic, what are the different types of respawn and their uses?

That's just working for players or "playable" units.

And I think deathsai needs this for his AI controlled units.

The thing you want is pretty easy to do, but not allways will it work in MP (as my siganture say)

I could help you, but first I need you to answer some questions

The four officers, are they near the battlefield?

.e.g are there any chance for them to die?

are there any limitations of how many boats there are, or should they be infinite?

Will the groups also be infinite?

Yes, I want this for SP only. Say, 6 Higgins boats at a time, or 4 groups of Russians or Africans at a time.

The officers are close to the battle.

Can you use game logic to set up a respawn point, where the officesr would be instead? or just a trigger, since I don't know how to use the game logic?

If you could show me how to adjust limitations (I.E. How many units will spawn before no more are spawned, for example), I would be grateful.

Neither of those work. I barely understood the first one, and the second one only has MP respawning. I want AI groups respawning!

You could always look in the 'Mission Editing FAQ', im sure they've got something about respawning there  smile_o.gif

I looked through some of the pages there, all I saw was MP respawns. Unless, of course, the things with Respawn markers, etc. works with AI.

Respawn_West and Respawn_East markers will work if your AI soldier is playable.
