GuyKorn 0 Posted January 15, 2004 Hey whats up all? i was wondering if anyone here paintballs, if so what part of the country? what type of gun do you use? what is your favorite games: Speedball, Capture the flag, senario...etc? I play once a week on saturdays at FoX river Valley in Illinois, I have a Spyder Electra Digital LED with a secondary PT Xtreme Semi Auto PIstol.
ozanzac 0 Posted January 15, 2004 You play once a week. Damn I wish paintballing was cheaper down here. I go three or four times a year, for the past four years, play with no less than 10 per team, the more the merrier. Usually use a pump-action shotgun if I'm feeling tactical or a semi if I'm feeling Ramboish. Both Tipperman. Play at Tarlee Paintball Adventures. Favourite game is Hamburger Hill. Kinda like capture the hill but the defending side starts in a fort to defend from. It's a rarity for the attacking team to capture the hill, but me and my flashpoint LAN buddies frequently acomplish the damn near impossible, and if we were in a league, we'd be one of the best teams around, no doubt thanks to OFP. God I miss the rush. Time to go again real soon, but I'm going on a holiday tomorrow. Yay and sh*t at the same time, cause I won't be able to afford to go on this quaters trip . JAP 2 Posted January 15, 2004 I play paintball. I m from Belgium, we re engaged in the Belgian League ( VPL 5 man league ) and are going to compete in 3-4 English tournaments too this year. Been playing for over 12 years now. I own an Angel IR3 with angelair airsystem and a freak barrel set and a shocker Y2K with a 1.5L pure energy and also freak barrel set ( both silver ... as a paintballmarker should be ) Good to see some fellow paintballers. We ended 1st in 2002, 3rd in 2003 and now ... well i dunno, first leagueday was just last saturday so much too early to tell. Favorite games, there s only one type in the league 2 flags on Sup'air fields, much more agressive and faster then the regular wood games. Our team is called "Total Eclipse" This is a pic of us on a 3-man league early last year ( i m the one in the mid playing with shocker that day ) which broke down 2 days from ending And one of a sup'air ball field ( small 3 man field ) And one of our Ultimate ( Ultimate Marshall aka The boss ! ) Cheers

jakerod 254 Posted January 16, 2004 Well Guykorn I do not paintball. But my brother used to play at Fox Valley Paintball before he joined the army. I went there once did a little bit of target practice but that was about it. I live in Geneva if you know where that is.

Baron von Beer 0 Posted January 16, 2004 Played several times where I am now (St. Louis MO area) at several fields in the area. (one actually had a few boats and "APCs" to play in.) Played 1-2 times a week when I used to live in the Dallas TX area, in Flower Mound. Already scoped out the fields where I will be moving to within the year. Have an aging but faithfull customized Autococker (Added barrel, stock, expansion, 3 way, bolt, etc.). (Pushing 6 years, and so long as I take care of it, it keeps on working great. Looking at getting a new gun (Armotech Sim4 RIS Elite). Going to Ohio some time soon, and plan on taking one for a test run from a shop near where I'm visiting. (Didn't see any in my area, so figured make the trip all the more exciting.) If the gun doesn't perform well, will spend the cash on a fuglier, but better gun. As for games, outdoor scenarios are the best, IMO. Speedball is great if you like fast sporty games. A good scenario on an 80 acre mixed terrain field (bunkers, woods, ravines) with 150 people is truly an experience if you want a more "combat" feel to it. (Plus we used to have field medics, etc, that had to take the hit player back to base, then wait 5 minutes to rejoin the fight. Usually set number of rejoins per player, sometimes per team. Have lasted as long as 6 hours, and did a few over nighters. THOSE were intense.

KamikazyWar 0 Posted January 16, 2004 Paintball maniac Here! I had a spyder till it broke (Cheap Bolt) Quote[/b] ]BTW: Ever tried wearing a kevlar vest while playing? A you afraid of little paintballs? Got the worst that can happen is bleeding, that happens in close-quarters. Best paintball ever is up here in Canada : BigFoot Paintball. I'm joining the MegaWar games this summer (500 chaps in total), its taking place on every field they have. Might take a Armotech WG 65 - Standard Model, rental or not (depends if I have a job). God bless all you paintball gun taunting freaks out there

hellfish6 7 Posted January 17, 2004 Another Chicagoan, eh? I'm in Arlington Heights myself. I've been to Challenge Park Extreme in Joliet a couple of times, but paintball has lost any interest for me. Airsoft, on the other hand...
FSPilot 0 Posted January 17, 2004 I've played paintball a few times before. You'll never catch me in a speedball scene though. No thanks to hiding behind giant colorful inflatable shapes, I'd rather use some realistic logs or rocks for cover Besides, everyone knows it's all about the airsoft. JAP 2 Posted January 17, 2004 No thanks to hiding behind giant colorful inflatable shapes, I'd rather use some realistic logs or rocks for cover Besides, everyone knows it's all about the airsoft. Speedball or sup'air as the playing on an inflatable field is called ( speedball is a smaller field with piramid wooden shapes ) is the new type of paintball. Airsoft is more of a military like experience and is in his own segment of "entertainment or hobby" Paintball moved on from being that and has now become more of a sport then hobby, competition that is. Playing competition paintball is no where near the experience of paintball in the woods as a customer or amateur player, it s faster, much more agressive and physical. Games last a maximum of 5 minutes and bonuses are given when a team wins withing 2 minutes. And believe me, that happens alot. The inflatable fields are encouraging agressive and fast play and at the same time drags paintball out of the woods and makes it much more accessible to the general public. Also it whipes away the bad name of right winged wackos training for a military coup that paintball/paintballers had in the past. This is also the reason why camo outfits aren t allowed anymore in the competition. If you really want a taste of how paintball has evolved the last few years take a look at the Millennium Series. Thats a european league held in different countries every month. The biggest is Toulouse, mostly in July or August. Here s a link to the Millennium Series homepage. http://www.millennium-series.com It s very impressive, for our team it s much much too expensive, flight : hotel, 3 days paintball, food, etc etc ... Its maybe ok for sponsored teams but we cant afford that especially not for getting our butts kicked 3 days in a row ;) So comparing Airsoft with paintball isnt possible. Mind you ... i would die for a SWAT like airsoft game with an MP5 and SWAT outfit ! Seen some pictures of a Japanese team playing in an old abandoned factory and that looked awesome. JAP 2 Posted January 17, 2004 You rich working bastards I only have a poor E99 Avant You can leave the "rich" part out Your first good marker is the most difficult. After that you just sell your old marker and maybe add another 250€ ontop of the money you get for the old one to get a fully up-to-date killer marker. So once you get a good marker the markers you buy after are doable to afford ... if you can sell your old one that is.
