Balschoiw 0 Posted January 13, 2004 Godfather Berlusconi, media mogul and media dictator of Italy finally has lost his immunity status he invented himself. The immunity law sheltered the top 5 politicians in Italy during their time in office. It came very pleasant to him as he had to face court on bribery and abuse of power. The Berlusconi courtsession Now he´s a regular citizen again when it comes to court. What i was a bit worried about was that the decision was with 7 vs 8 votes. A very flexible decision when you think of the basic democratic principle that everyone is equal in front of a court. Berlusconi hunt reopened Nice list for a democratic president: [b said: Quote[/b] ]2003: Charges of bribing judges suspended with passing of immunity law 2002: False accounting charges dropped under new statute of limitations 2000: Acquitted of charges of bribing tax inspectors 1998: Guilty of illegal party financing, prison ordered but cancelled after appeal 1997: Guilty of false accounting, sentence dropped in amnesty, acquitted in 2000 Well, maybe his ally GW Bush catches up to him with his criminal record pretty soon. Hmm I guess Berlusconi has very tight connections to Cosa Nostra, Sacra Corona, Camorra and 'Ndrangheta. He had to watch a close friend and minister of him go to jail for 11 years for his "mafia" connections and tried to avoid that in a very mafiesc way I don´t think he has to fear the mafia, but courts, judges and the italian law especially. Balschoiw 0 Posted January 13, 2004 [b said: Quote[/b] ]what did he do wrong to italy? Well he didn´t especially raise italy´s reputation amongst other countries with his Nazi comparison, his unique way to treat his countries juridical representants, he bribed, he camouflaged his media deals that made him richest man of Italy, he was illegally funding his political party and betrayed italian tax payers, his citizens, by billions as he bribed tax police did some false accounting in billions and is very open to corruption. You may want to check google on more as the list is really big. One more highlight is his protection for Mussolini´s neice or whatever she is to Mussolini. He holds his sheltering hand over her and her fascist party. A thing that would be not imaginable to be tolerated in other european countries. And there still are his comments on a german eu parliament member that critized his work as president of the EU. His words were: [b said: Quote[/b] ]Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi's comments that a German member of the European Parliament would be "perfect" for the role of a guard in a film about a Nazi concentration camp as insensitive and crass.
