I found an empty helicopter. I was the officer so I orderd all my men into the back of the helicopter (CH-47D) excluding one how I made the pilot. I tell the pilot to move to a certain location. However, is there anyway I can tell him to go higher? Ordering everyone to eject at a low altitude doesn't work to well ;)

No, sorry. You should still be able to parachute without getting killed. But if you are playing in the editor, you can put into a helicopter's/plane's init field:

<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">this flyinheight 100

100 can be anything, the default height is 50 (?) but 100 is pretty high.

Ahh, I was playing in a mission that a friend had not completed. And the helicopter was always so low.

But thanks. Another problem i'm having is. Two are three people always die. Their chutes turn black. Even though at this drop. I had ejected first without dying.

If you order all your men to eject simultaneously some will die (get hung up in eachother).

I have a role of thumb to eject at a minimum height of 80 meters. If the AI-chopper fly slow then the mission-designer set the AI-pilot's waypoint-speed to slow.

There's actually only two speeds to select:

Slow= slow(around 70km/h for choppers), maintaine formation

Normal= max speed of slowest aircraft in group, maintaine formation

Fast= max speed, does not maintaine formation (slower aircrafts will not be taken into consideration and therefore left behind)

If I were using notepad to edit this mission. Where would I enter the init setting to make it fly higher and what would it look like?

Arrr, don't open that book ;).

Un-PBO it to your User/Missions folder and add the line Gollum mentioned.

I think this can probably be answered simply by doing a search in mission editing but I'll just move it over there.

For some reason i don't believe that it will be that easy

this time.

Isaioux2x: if you really wanna do that, i think you will

have to start learning, how to make missions.

step by step read thru the forums/tutorials/and keep on

trying.

Just by adding the flyinheight line, even if somebody tells

you where, you will very soon find out that there will

pop up one more problem after another  wink_o.gif

:edit - wow_o.gif just noticed your comment was for moving the

thread placebo - me thought it's been already started in
