astatine 0 Posted December 25, 2003 Looking really good Have you talked to project lowlands warrior? Perhaps you could double up on some C7 varients.
Guest major gandhi Posted December 25, 2003 This is really stpid. Lowland warriors already made some very good rifles. Why do you need to make your own. This only costs time and is totally senseless.

Merry Christmas to you too. If we went off and took the work of other people, then we wouldn't be much of a mod then, would we? Either way, (whether we take their addons or not) a different variant of this rifle will take up space on your hard drive. The choice to make our own rifles was ours, and we made that decision. All we can ask is that you show a little bit of respect towards our hard work, and have fun playing with the results. Now really, is that asking for much? CanadianTerror 0 Posted December 25, 2003 @Anyone ONS needs more texture artists (what mod doesnt?) so if you can help out, please do! There's a pile of models(vehicles/weapons etc etc) that we need help getting textured and out the door at this point.
astatine 0 Posted December 25, 2003 Thats fine, i respect your decision. I look forward to another great release from this excellent mod

Anton This is the exact reason why things take so long, and are so duplicated... A lack of simple communication. @ONS: Why not speak to the Lowlands guys, and see about using some of thier C7 variants. It would save you a whole lot of time and effort, allowing you to focus on other aspects of your mod. Also, people will not think any less of you as a mod team because you've had the common sense to co-operate with other mod teams to save doubling up on work
Powerslide 0 Posted December 25, 2003 First of all Meat, you have a very valid point...however, Mathhijs did alot of variations to these rifles, ones we don't need so as far as adopting the whole pack it's a bad fit. If we were to use it we would want the unbinned models for 2 reasons, first of all our stuff uses different sounds, configuration and magazines. So basing our mod on his pbo wouldn't work, we still will not be compatible. We could alter his config in which case there would be conflicts. Matthijs has already shared a few things with us, for us to ask for all his unbinned models is a hefty request considering the hard work he put into this pack. Either way our stuff would not be compatible with his stuff, even if we used his models. Also not all of us have the tools to crack binned models (unlike BAS does) so we can't reverse engineer on our own. Furthermore we are an independent operation here and enjoy doing our own work. The stuff that has been shared or the stuff we have shared was sent as unbinned models. In fact anyone who wants to use our stuff, modify it or reverse engineer it go ahead, using the BIS tools to make it forfeits any rights we may have to it. Edit: Also Sniper started these before the release of Lowlands C Rifles and IMO they look darn good, guy hates to throw out good work

One 0 Posted December 25, 2003 hooray for canada - its good to see the new models and not those shitty bis'ish ones - no offence bis, i just really hate the default m16/m4Â can't wait for some kick ass textures.
dm 9 Posted December 25, 2003 I don't doubt that for a second powerslide, and yes indeed snipers models doo look shit hot. As for models, understandable, I appreciate that everyone wants their own version, or the best version possible or whatever, but a line has to be drawn at some point, else we'll end up in the M4 situation, where every tom, dick and harry has made a million variants, and hardly any get used. @Blackdog... grow up man, remember what happend last time you went on one of your little vendetas... Powerslide 0 Posted December 25, 2003 Thanks for the nice comments Meat. You know and I know there are a million M4's out there, but which ones are getting used? Maybe your guys stuff and that high res version that guy made (his name escapes me). The cream always rises to the top. Our mod is small, our fan base is small and we are doing our best to cater to them. Like in our CPack there are other weapons in there like the C6, C9, C9A1, Parker Hale C3A1, Mcmillan TAC-50 etc etc. We would like to keep them all together in one pack, simplifies things for us. gaultesian 0 Posted December 26, 2003 As a fellow Canadian and avid user of the Operation Northstar addons - this is great news. However, I also use the Royal Netherlands troops and now the new Danish troops. I also downloaded the new Diemarco rifle pack and it rocks! Maybe you could please us with a compromise... One pack with an all-genuine Operation Northstar weapons pack, and an alternate troop update with the unique canadian rifles and equipment, (how can you not love the TAC-50), but the config arms the rest of the troops with the new Diemarco weapons pack instead - you download an alternate weapons pack instead. Maybe this suggestion is more work and headaches, but it's a suggestion nonetheless. I know the Operation Northstar weapons will have different sounds and stuff, but I want to incorporate the Danish and Netherlands forces with my Canadian forces (i have several nato and international campaigns created and I usually focus my attention on the smaller armed forces - not the Americans) - it would be kinda weird having the same rifles sound and acting differently (ballistics, accuracy, etc.) between the Canadian vs. the Dutch and Netherlands troops. Sincerely, Gaultesian
CanadianTerror 0 Posted December 26, 2003 Sometimes it's not always easier to take other people's suggested shortcuts even though that's what they want. You have to let the guys who make the shit...make it, and make it how it works for them as well. i don't see people(in general) beating down doors to offer any help other than to tell people what to do. ...not aimed at anyone in here, just a general comment to reflect my opinion. Crowley 0 Posted December 26, 2003 Looks great but, I have just a few questions... -Aren't the M203 versions missing the attachment mechanism? -Will these use the metal magazines (good) or the plastic ones (bad, which the recent 'Lowland Warriors' pack uses)? -Any chance the P225 will get a much needed makeover? Keep up the great work.
