Ian Malcolm 0 Posted December 4, 2003 ontopic: doesn't binarizing convert all faces to smooth setting? I think I've read something like that before, not sure though. Nope. They'll apear ingame same like in Buldozer...
matyboy 0 Posted December 4, 2003 Hi Ian Yes i do know all about that, the reason it looks like i haven`t done that in some of my addons its either i keep the polygons down in some hi detail addons and in others i have just not been bothered,to many hours working.??? Ian would you be so kind and tell me what you are exactly refering to in regards to my unfinished dc3 pictures. Be very specific about what you are making comments about so i can give a direct answer to what you are talking about. thanks martin.

matyboy 0 Posted December 4, 2003 Hi Working on the copit at the moment, looking good as soon as its 65% finished i will post some pictures. But its coming on fine. martin
Ian Malcolm 0 Posted December 4, 2003 ...i haven't done that in some of my addons its either i keep the polygons down... Sorry, but it doesn't have anything to do with polycount. Quote[/b] ]...i have just not been bothered, to many hours working.??? That's what i do not understand. Why i should spent month of work on model and after that i'll spoil perception of whole model? Because another one hour of work? Why my work should look way worse when it could easily look better without too much work? To be more specific. Here is visible bad lighting at tail of your nice Dakota: Here at intake. Here at edge of the wing beside light. Here inside probably should be front wall flat: Etc. And do not be angry at me. I don't wanna be rude.. I just saw too many nice models slobbed by bad lighting. I'm really looking forward to your DC-3!
matyboy 0 Posted December 5, 2003 Hi Ian Yes now i know what you are talking about, the wall inside is flat put the pictures that you seeing are not of the finished version and put up on my site to show how it is coming on i will do all of that at the end with all the other little things not even the outer texture is finished yet,but thanks for the comments and will not be putting anymore pictures up untill it is 99% finished,by the way the toilet has been alreadly totally rebuilt and thats what i mean, pictures that are seen are only for people to see that i am still working hard on the addon, and should not be seen as the end model. This is a large model and things are put in place first and then after all the little things are done. Thanks for the comments but please don`t come in with all guns ablazing, ask first,it sounds much better. martin.
Ian Malcolm 0 Posted December 5, 2003 Thanks for the comments but pleasedon`t come in with all guns ablazing, ask first,it sounds much better. Ok. Sorry. It was 2AM when i was writting my first "insulting" post. And i was after whole day of modelling and texturing bit tired and angry
bonko the sane 2 Posted December 5, 2003 In Martin we trust... i have all your addons and the end product is allways topnotch quality...this DC3 is on my Chritmas list
matyboy 0 Posted December 5, 2003 Hi Thanks Maty Just like to say, what Ian was saying is right of course, and i have not aways made the effort to set the lighting on my addons correctly, but will make more of an effort in the future, in stead of leaving it to the end of the model, and then forgetting to do it,because of the rush to release it. Thanks Ian,and don`t work so long into the early morning it makes you feel like **** the next day. Martin PS Please do leave any comments on my forum. JAP 2 Posted December 8, 2003 What s the difference from being inspired with a skin from another flightsim instead of getting inspired from one on some website that s showing military cammo paterns ?? Beats me. Also, you already mentioned this on the first page ... why bring it up again ? Too many "bright" remarks being made against many addonmakers, keep it up and this thread will go same way as RHS one did ! Maybe in a few months we ll be glad someone wants to make an addon for ofp ... This is not just your post Supah, it s just the general trend going down in addon discussion section lately and it s starting to bother me. Cheers
Supah 0 Posted December 8, 2003 Wow that looks so good that you'd think its an addon for FS2K4 Really nice work! LOL indeed i did say it back then. Hadn't even seen this colourscheme in FS2k4 then BTW i dont care that it looks the same, he probably just made it to look exactly like the one in FS2k4 or used it as refference. Very likely as every rivet, dent and so is in the exact same place Microsoft Flight simulator is so accurate that it is a good place to get refference from
