Wilco 944 Posted October 27, 2003 Well howdy there boys, just wanted to update some of you on the newest stuff from The Unsung. Island: Old News: Drow(team leader) has been working with WRPTool and brought up an island in four days.  Obviously it isn't complete, but its a start.  Also, most of you may have seen it already. (This is just his test island, not final) Weapons: SEB M16 and AK-47 SU by me. http://www.tacticalblunder.com/~uploads/Wilco/Screenshot127.jpg http://www.tacticalblunder.com/~uploads/Wilco/Screenshot129.jpg  The AK needs alot more work on it.  I also plan to do more weapons in the future, we will probobaly implement some SEB objects if permission is granted, mostly trees and a few weapons.  Also, I don't want to say that this work and weapon is of The Unsung, by all means I do not wish to steal any work from them, but we may use the weapons posted in our modification. Wilco 944 Posted October 27, 2003 The M16 is TGA texture. And we plan to maybe do some cooperation with SEB, although most of its members are active with other mods, it would be nice if we could. I plan to make the foregrip a little more realistic also. Â The AK needs work on the reciever, if you can tell, it doesn't line up correctly. Â More photos soon. drow 0 Posted October 27, 2003 Actually Wilco i didnt use WRPtool, just visitor and bulldozer, (setting all height by hand - HITTING 'I' A MILLION TIMES!!!) but it works great, in fact i have started a new island, named CTZ 1 (corps tactical zone 1) it will be a kick ass island. Snake Man 407 Posted October 28, 2003 The SEB NAM Pack 2 lacks the Armor completely, there are the placeholders using BIS models but that only gets you so far. So have you guys ever considered instead of duping the existing work, to work on the areas that are lacking in NP2 or like with armor completely missing? If you would do such thing, it would be great to have them all JAM2 compatible since I've heard rumours that there is NAM Pack 2 JAM patch under work. drow 0 Posted November 6, 2003 (I dont think he made the tank, i think he said his friend made that model and he is waiting for permissions...) But heres something else interesting coming from The Unsung... our own Hammy also from http://www.ofpnam.com/news.php is kindly hosting some pics of our new sky textures, they are mostly the stormy ones, so keep in mind theres plenty of plain/clearish skies too. We will most likely be releasing this inside our first teaser demo, along with an island an whatnot, but depending on the requests from the ofp community we may decide to release a public beta before that to start the buzz. freddern 0 Posted November 13, 2003 Is the island gonna lag like the BAS island? In my opinion the island doesn't have to be as big as the BAS one (not that it's a bad island but...) drow 0 Posted November 14, 2003 our island doesnt even look like that pic anymore as I wasnt allowed to use BAS's vegetation on it. I will post some new pics of it soon. This new island will feature all of ThruYerStErNum's stuff, and a bunch of other nam stuff i have and will scratch together, I have these object addons... DF_viethut and some other DF one, does anymore know who made these? they are nice Vietnamese huts and i would like to use them on this island. seeing these new building of SYCO has me really excited to ask him if i might be able to use some of them. Wilco 944 Posted November 16, 2003 Update: Been working on a bunker for Vietnam: Burned Battlefields, but I'm sure we're allowed to use it in our mod also. As of now, it is pretty simple. Here are also some picture of the new firing position animation that will replace the current default verison. http://www.pbase.com/image/23334621 Still needs a few touch ups, like AI weapon placement is a bit to high for the hands, and the face/helmets are to close to the gun, but it's pretty good to me considering it was a 10-15 minute job. Right now, IMO, too bright, and too "clean" looking. Make the tex look like something that was hastily thrown up in the jungle, with minimal supplies, and in a non-structure friendly environement. The model itself looks just fine to me. Keep up the good work. I love fighting in Vietnam, and this pack looks like it will be a great addition when out!
