Operation flashpoint resistance. green screen?

Recommended Posts

Hello. Just a few weeks ago I got OFP Cold War Crisis, Gold Upgrade and Resistance.

I downloaded ALL of the patches I needed off the official website.

After everything was installed, I tested the games out.

OFP + Red Hammer worked fine, it was running with Patch 1.46.

Resistance on the other hand was displaying a green screen. I tried the Alt-Tab thing, and the screen still displayed green. I had the patch 1.91 installed, so what is wrong?

I re-instsall the nVidia drivers. Resistance showed up.

Yippee!

But a day later, the green screen problem came again, and it rather annoyed me.

Anyone know how to fix it?

My PC spec -

AMD Athlon 2500XP (2GHz)

512MB RAM

256MB GeForce FX 5600

Windows XP Home Edition OS with sevice pack 1

Using DX9.

If you need anymore info, just ask.

Thanks for reading.

Wow, i've been looking for a Rabbi smilile!

Anyway, I have NOT installed the new detonator drivers that nVidia has issued out.

I re-installed the WinXP-2K - 44.03 nVidia drivers. The game worked ONCE. Must have been by luck...

One more question. Does the new patch (1.91) fix a problem with a file called nv4_mini.sys?

Try running the OFP Preferences program and clicking an AUTODETECT. If that doesn't help, move the following two files out of OFP's folders, run the Preferences program and click AUTODETECT again:

1. OFP\flashpoint.cfg

2. OFP\Users\yourPlayerName\Userinfo.cfg

Never heard of it. rock.gif

I heard the detonator drivers are not worth the hassle, and has caused certain people problems with WinXP. Is that true?

The Auto detect thing does not work, i'll try out the other method.

nv4_mini.sys.

While playing with three AH-64 raining FFAR's on four T-80 tanks and two Shilkas firing like mad at them, the game freezes and a blue screen comes up, which states that 'nv4_mini.sys' is the cause for the problem.

That file is located in the nVidia drivers folder. The problem occurs under patch 1.46.

Just want to ask if it is fixed in patch 1.91.

Never heard such a thing.

Sometimes, earlier versions of Detonators are more stable than the latest ones available. But generally speaking, it has nothing to do with XP in particular. And in general, updated drivers are better.

You should inquire which Detonators people are working with successfully.

Chances are that this is a driver issue, not an OFP version issue.
