havocsquad 0 Posted August 22, 2003 Anyone that knows the full storyline of the first OFP offical campaign knows what happens if you cooperate with them in giving up your friends. I know death would come from it if you cooperate, Guba has an arrogant, Genocidic sociopathic mentality that always does something while 10 miles away from any reasonable rational thought. Â If you paid attention to what happened at the execution scene before you had to make the decision, that clearly shows that cooperation or not equals death when Guba is around. Â Conquering does not require the presence of civilians, so if they are in the way or does not determine his plans, then they are expendable. The only reason Guba didn't try to butcher every civilian on Nogova is: 1. Â Expensive 2. Â Less Resistance 3. Â Self-Preservation 4. Â Very Difficult to Kill Them All 5. Â International Intervention might have been a lot more harsh 6. Â Soviet Troop Morale Destruction There is a lot more reasons, but that is the main reasons probably why Guba didn't try to do a massive Cleansing. An introduction course or class on Psychology or Sociology might help out understanding on what makes ruthless leaders the way they are. Anyways, hope this helps in giving some insight on predicting decisions in situations like this. Later. Havoc.
The Frenchman 0 Posted August 22, 2003 Guba didn't try to do a massive Cleansing. Then what the heck is Kolejeiv ( I yet to spell that island correctly )
havocsquad 0 Posted August 22, 2003 It's different if the Soviet government already owns the property with Kolegjev. Â I'm sure some example of that happened during the early part of 1950's with Stalin's political purges. Guba probably just scared the crap of its own citizens by a few bloody roundups and a few public executions in the name of the Socialist cause or blame them for being traitors or disloyal. Â Then use that to move out all Soviet civilians out of the island and give him a free pass to create misery in the region. Anyways, that's my take on how Kolegjev became the pathetic state it did, a bunch of lazy military tyrants running the region and the Politburo turning a blind eye.
