Art of concealment and camouflage

Recommended Posts

The ability to bury/hide/cover/camouflage:- mines, satchels, weapons, ammo, bunkers and vehicles would be a nice feature. That is considering that part of the conflict is going to be based around Vietnam.

In OFP when you lay a mine, it is very obvious to other players where it is placed, as it sits on top on the ground.  But if you gave the option to conceal the mine to make it harder to see, this would improve realism.  ie if a player were just to lay a mine quickly it should just sit on top, but if the player selects "Conceal" it should camouflage the item to match the surrounding surface textures... and the longer the player holds the selection on, the harder it should be to see.  This option should be added to a wide variety of objects, with an increase in time to conceal an item effectively the larger the item is.  It would be nice to camouflage gun pits, vehicles, tents ect.  My 2 cents. Thx.

Good Idea biggrin_o.gif

It Would be Great because,Lets say your mission was to ambush a convoy you might have to run fast to the ambush point so you would have time to conceal the mines instead of just jogging to the ambush point and only have time to lay mines on the ground biggrin_o.gif

While we're at it - Foxholes, and the ability to dig them and maybe trenches would be cool too.

Another neat idea would be the ability to have tanks and vehicles able to be, I beleive the term is, hull down. That would add some neat scenerios.

Well in ofp you can find a bush or tree beside the road and put a satchel in the bush and just set it off when the vehicle goes by no need for the tank to run over the sat to blow it. I don't think you should be able to hide mines on a paved road. In RL mines are suppose to be a distraction to the enemy. Like the enemy knows were your mines are he can't go through them unless he takes the time to slowly blow them up or he would have to go all the way around them. Mines are primarily a defensive device. If your gonna blow up vehicles go with the satchel.
