Try running the DirectX Diagnostics (DXDIAG.EXE) and make sure you can complete all of the tests on the Video tab.

If you can complete the video tests, run the OFP Preferences program and click on Autodetect. If that doesn't work, try opening your Flashpoint.cfg file with Notepad, and change the refresh rate to read Refresh="0";.

I get a

"Cannot Create 3D device:

(Radeon 9000 SERIES) Fullscreen

blahblahblah

D3DERR_OUTOFVIDEOMEMORY

This is with the new 3.4 drivers. The game runs groovy with the 2.5s, every other game works fine.

Does that error message come from OFP or DXDIAG? Have you used Autodetect in the Preferences program?

The error comes from OFP, I've tried autodetecting, Turning of the H/W accel in Ofp, checking DXDIAG (everything runs fine). Not quite sure what's going on...

In the Preferences program, click on Advanced, then Performance, and make sure that the Texture Heap is maxed out (16MB). On the Textures tab, try selecting textures no larger than 2048x2048.

I turned all the textures to 256, still no luck... I'm thinking this problem is going to require some outside-the-box thinking....

Or if the official drivers fail you try the omega drivers, very good.
