Gun sights innacurate

Recommended Posts

When aiming any weapon normally(without zooming in or looking through the sight, the 'sight-marker' ...the white 'T' is always aiming way too high. At a distance of approx. 10 feet, if i aim at an enemy's head, he will get hit in the stomach. Any ideas??

resistance version 1.90

coldwar crisis latest also

thanks

Most people turn off the crosshair anyway, it detracts from the realism of the game, but I guess if you are using the cross hair then it's the eqivalent of aiming from the hip, whereas using the iron sights (proper way to play) you have your weapon raised at shoulder level smile.gif

well, ok. but then i don't see the point of having a cross-hair option if it doesn't come close to where you are aiming. also, if your point IS the case, then why is my 'guy' always holding his gun against his shoulder(except when running). somethings not right here, and i recall the first time i played ofp, the sights worked. sure it is more accurate to use iron sights and zoom in, but in general the aiming shouldn't be that off-target.

I get the same thing.

Only the crosshairs are not high. The bullet always hits to the left of the crosshairs.

And crosshairs ARE realistic.

The iron sights are simulating firing from iron sights with the weapon up.

The cross hairs are simulating firing from the hip. So how is this not realistic?

I believe those soldiers fighting in Iraq right now do so without crosshairs?

It is impossible to have an accurate crosshair which would work in all distances. The bullets come off from your gun, which is in different position than your face where you see the magic crosshair thing... Only way to get it accurate would be to make it work like a laser pointer, I believe jedi knight 2 has something like that. (So that if you move real close to a wall for example, the crosshair is right at the end of your gun barrell)

Just disable the whole thing, ironsihts is much better tounge.gif

I play with crosshairs enabled because I mainly play MP. For me the crosshairs are very accurate, but I only use them in close combat and house clearing with pistols. Or if an enemy runs into the barrel of my M16. tounge.gif

Don`t be angry. I`m pretty sure they are fighting better because of improved animations compared to OFP. wink.gif

They actualy are realistic. I didn't widely test this in ofp but a decently trained soldier can shoot quite accurately up to 100m without using his sights, sometimes even 150m. It's instinctive firing when you come under fire. No time to use the little and cute sight, make sure it's aligned properly, etc. You just shoot 2 rounds at him (unless you don't see him yet... but you'd still shoot twice).

Also in realty you always know widely where your gun aims at. If someone don't I wouldn't give him a gun wink.gif. It's also harder to frag without them, nade launchers are next to useless because BIS didnt include any sights for them.
