Sdoc/uce russians - new version !

Why weren't the original PBO names retained?

i've just made an "old uce mission compatibility adaptor" for two of the addons.

it is not beta tested at all, actually i havent tested them with an old mission. so everyone who uses them should know what he does if he uses them.

only uce_russian.pbo and uce_rusdes are included:

compat_b01.zip

if you like it, and i get some response on them i will create some for each UCE/sdoc addon.

using them is a "dirty" method to run old uce addon based missions. rather edit the mission.sqm, and replace the old class names with the new ones there!

I have to agree on mailman's weapons. They really shouldn't be used in the pack. Isn't there any alternative? I'd really like to put the spec op units in our next addons pack, but people already complain about 'no bullet drop', 'ugly weapons', etc. after the first tests...

It's a pity the units won't work without the pack as they're just great, and the stuff you added (especially the seperate class in the editor) makes them fun to use.

Edit: what about Rus_Partisan's weapons (get them from this link) - anyone tried them? Maybe these can serve as a replacement?

i don't like them (mailmans weapons) very much either, but i havent seen a better pack, including the needed weapons, at the time i created the addon.

if i find something better i could use them for version 1.2.

just tested partisans pack, high quality weapons. as, akms and svd are included.

if there would be a vss, as without scope and ak74m's they could substitute mailmans weapons.

It just means Idiot, i picked it up from the Father Ted (an amazing show) its used quite a lot around where im from.

Brilliant..I love the units...But I have a few probelms when opening OFP now and also when trying to use certain units from the pack ; When I launch OFP (resistance 1.91) I get an error message saying something along the lines of "cannot load group missing addon RFAKSU47"....I look in the mailmans addon and there is no AKSU-47 in the pack Is this normal or have I just downloaded an incomplete addon?

I think it is something to do with this eapon as whenever I try to use any of the SDOC units that use the AKSU-47 I get an error message that says something like "missing config\.model"

Please help as these are really nice units and I'd really like to use all of them.

can you specify for wich "group" of units (rusdes, rusnaval etc) this happened?

Sorry I forgot to say : I have the Specops pack....And also..lol..(sorry again)...I get an error message when I get into OFP main menu something like "cannot load..(something)...SVU"...lol..so in all I get 3 diffferent error messages : An error message when I first launch OFP (while I'm still on desktop) that says something like "cannot load group (the default Russian infantry but with mailman's pack weapons). The next error message is when I get to the OFP main menu and it's something like "missing .config/SVU".The last one is when I have a unit that uses an AKSU47 (like SDOC Spetznatz) on the map (in the editor) and I press preview...I get an error message like "missing/.model"...It's hard to explain because I'm not currently on my own PC

I think I might know what's going on here. There are TWO Russian weapons packs by Mailman out there. One is called Mailman's_pack and is around 4.5 megs in size. The other (and the one you need) is called Mailman's_Russian_Federation_weapon_pack and is just over 6 megs. I recently had the same problem as Shashman before realising that I had two packs by Mailman on my hard drive.

but there is still that problem with that aksu47, none of my units should use one, i just checked all of the special units config.cpp files: no 47 string.

shashman are u sure it's a aks47 not a aksu74? that one should be used.

you're want the high quality weapon? Well get the RUSPartisan's weapon (pretty good weapons) BUT remember that his weapon have about 2000 polys and have'nt lowpolys lods, and use this weapon in MP missions is unreal. What are you want, play in game or watch pretty good slideshow?

OK here are the exact error messages I get

1.Upon launching OFP :

"ADDON 'GROUPS' requires addon 'RSVD' "

2.When it reaches the main menu :

"No entry 'config.bin/CfgWeapons.RFAKSU"

3.When I try to use any of these units ; Spetznatz Officer, Spetznatz Medic, Spetznatz SVD, Spetznatz RPG-7v1, Spetznatz RPG, Spetznatz AKS-74U, SOBR AKS-74U and OMON AKS-74U I get this message : "No entry '.model' "

I am able to use all the others without any problems...

I would greatly appreciate any help!

but this is still the truth, i haven't seen a possible replacement yet.

partisans weapons really look great, but i haven't checked them intensively... and i have a quite fast computer. the quality of the textures is also quite high.

i think if you would update your weapons, fix the bugs in the .cpp, and polish some textures your weapons will stay the first choice for this addon.

some of the guys in this forum, and thread will help you as beta testers, i am sure! including me of course.

RFSVD and RFAKSU are regularily used by all those units you mentioned above.

please check if there is a rfsvd.pbo and rfaksu.pbo in your addons folder. the missing addons are included in them.

there are download links (to ofp.info and flashpoint.ru) for the correct pack of mailmans RF weapons.

install them and try it again.

Thanks SDOC.That's just the problem : I DON'T have those .pbos in my addons folder, which is strange.I also checked in the .rar of Mailman's pack and they are not in there either WHY NOT??!! lol

Is there more than one version of this pack? And if I download it will I have to update this carn sarn mission I've been working on for 6 days non stop?

Would it be possible for someone maybe to send me the individual .pbos? if so could you PM me? Thanks in advance
