Why is my AVATAR spawning and respawning in its underwear?

Recommended Posts

I'm playing ARMA 3 Escape servers. For sometime now my AVATAR is continually spawning in and respawning without a uniform. I have re-installed the game, deleted all profile folders, and yet this issue remains.  I'm at a loss. has nobody experienced this issue?

PLEASE HELP!

Using any mods?

And have you checked your rpt to see if there are any conflicts there?

So is there a virtual arsenal your accessing in the mission, and then you saved the loadout, or whats the setup,

how are you saving your loadout if you create one?

You dont need to uninstall the game, if anything just do a verify integrity of cache on steam.

This is an old issue, part stems from mods, syntax error in codes or in a script, and has been a game bug in the past.

Gunter,

I appreciate I didn't need to uninstall, but I did it anyway (and regretted it) lol!
Escape doesn't use VAs or loadouts. You basically spawn-in, in a basic uniform. Then you pick up gear as you progress thought the mission, either off the AI or loot located in buildings and objectives you clear etc.
thanks for your suggestions. you are the first to reply, so I appreciate it!

Cheers.

Welcome, Ya i think i knew that escape was more a survival mission, but there may be unofficial versions

where someone added arsenal, or even some save loadout function at some point, kinda of like a progression in the story if you will.

    About the only thing i can think of is for your issue is to look at your latest RPT which would be located here:

C:\Users\your username\AppData\Local\Arma 3

open it with notepad, copy everything, and then paste it here ---->  https://justpaste.it/

then reply with the link.

Rpt will log any issues, or errors, what your running, ect,. for the game provided your have [ ] no logs

unchecked in the launcher parameters.

   So if your able to do that, or have the rpt from your last session when the issue occurred share it and lets take a look, maybe

we can find something that can gives us a clue as to why your losing your uniform apon respawn.

It may be possible that if your picking up an enemy uniform to wear that, that may contribute to the issue as that has a function in itself

if i recall that bi had set that up where you couldn't be seen as one of the enemy if you wore their uniform, cant say.

     But lets look at the rpt if you dont have it, then create it, imo that would be the best way to get more info from the game itself, or the source.

Gunter,

Sorry it's been so long since I replied. Appreciate your help. I thought I'd fixed it. Turns out when I went from one beta version of the game back to the regular executable, it seemed to fix the problem. Recently there was a rather large A3 update, and now everyone on the server spawns in , in their underwear! Ridiculous!
In any caser you asked for an RPT? Here is my latest (linked as requested) https://justpaste.it/779ar
I'd be very happy if you could decipher what's going on. Cheers, Leonard

No worries, i'll take a look:

Mods your using

  • DLC - GM;WS;CSLA
  • @CUP Terrains - Core
  • @CUP Terrains - Maps
  • @Reshmaan Province
  • @Cham
  • @Advanced Urban Rappelling
  • @HAP_ALL
  • @ADF Vanilla - Arma 3 Vanilla Re-Texture to Australian Defence Force FICTIONAL
  • @CBA_A3
  • @CUP Weapons
  • @CUP Units
  • @Specialist Military Arms (SMA) Version 2.7.1
  • @Enhanced Movement
  • @CUP Vehicles
  • @CUP Terrains - CWA

For your mods here, you got to decide what your going to use, you have imo to many mods with alot of maps to choose from,

which is fine but make a decision which map and mission are you playing?

A suggestion is to create profiles of commandlines on your server for certain scenarios that you play with mods, so say you play

with certain mods for escape scenarios, and certain mods with other scenarios ect,.

What this does is it eliminates

1. Many files to be loaded (mods) with tons of scripts and assets which uses up resources and eats up fps.

2. Prevents possible conflicts

Right now you have a few script errors spamming TF out of your rpt which eventually if you let it go will start picking away at your servers memory

when you get an out of memory error like so and size expected and got type error then thats the stuff your not fixing.

Im against using alot of mods when i play, i've had my share over the years of missions using to many mods and it was either lag, errors, or crashing,

or some oddity ingame, keep it simple, simple is efficient, simple demands little, simple is fast, simple is easy to fix when theres an issue.

As for the RPT

Im seeing these 2 errors being spammed, you should get these fixed: (theres actually a few of these)

20:26:00   Error position: <_thirst >= 100) : {_colourThirst = _colo>
20:26:00   Error Undefined variable in expression: _thirst
20:26:00 File mpmissions\__CUR_MP.SefrouRamal\scarCODE\statusBar\statusBar.sqf..., line 140
20:26:00 Error in expression <amage player)) * 100);

_hunger = ceil (hungerLevel max 0);
_thirst = ceil (thir>
20:26:00   Error position: <hungerLevel max 0);

_thirst = ceil (thir>
20:26:00   Error Undefined variable in expression: hungerlevel
20:26:00 File mpmissions\__CUR_MP.SefrouRamal\scarCODE\statusBar\statusBar.sqf..., line 68
20:26:01 Error in expression <_colourDefault;
switch true do{

case(_thirst >= 100) : {_colourThirst = _colo>

=============

What i bolded above are the scripts the errors are referring too.

There are other ones similar to that, you should try to get those fixed, because 90% of the rpt is this error.

      Suggest making a post in the mission editing and scripting section, say something like i need help solving error in mission,

and then post the errors separately, see if you can locate those scripts provide as much detail as possible.

As for your not having a uniform when you spawn or respawn, cant say what that exact issue is but

if you can edit the mission your playing and add some code this is what i would reccomend:

creating a script and adding it to your scenario, they will do the following:

A video guide:

This video will save the players loadout when he respawns, so whatever weapons, ammo, gear ect,.

he died with he will have when he respawns:

Now if your at an ammobox, you can save your loadout and get confirmation you saved it, but

this save loadout code will save your loadout, where when you respawn

you'll have the same loadout that you saved before you died:

Hope that helps. Cheers!

Gunter,

thanks for taking a look.

Not sure if you've played the 'Escape' Scenario? We spawn in, exit a holding/jail by killing a number of AI, then to win we have to locate the 'Comms' objective to bring up an 'Evac' location. If we all die (a regular occurrence) we move onto the next map (in the rotation) and, rinse and repeat. It's always the same 'scenario' so, we are always using the same mods just in five different maps. The selection of maps gives a a variety of terrains and conditions, which is why we like them. I'll bring your reply up with the server owner and see if he can sort out those Sefrou_Ramal issues?

Thanks for your kind assistance,

Zekkus
