flyingsaucerinvasion 3 Posted May 21, 2022 Has anybody ever found a solution to this problem? AI Infantry (not vehicle) machine gunners shoot at a very low rate of fire (about 1 shot every 0.2 seconds). It frankly sounds nothing like real machine gun fire. Even if we can't get them to actually fire bullets faster, we at least need to find a way for the audio to sound like they are.
pierremgi 4904 Posted May 21, 2022 Depending on your scenario and how it's resource demanding during fire. For example, many units/objects can ruin the rate of fire. You can test the "original" rate in editor, with the machine gunner and nothing else. Most of the time, this issue is related to a too heavy scenario and there is nothing to do but making it lighter. twisted 128 Posted May 21, 2022 AFAIR it's an old engine limitation - which is also why the little bird helicopters fire double bullets damage each shot but at half the rpm. i heard the new enfusion engine has moved beyond this problem - but i have no evidence or substantiation for it. flyingsaucerinvasion 3 Posted May 24, 2022 By the way, the issue has nothing to do with performance. It will happen even if it's just you and 1 ai MGer on the map shooting at you. If they are farther away than about 100 meters, their rate of fire drops to a ridiculous 1 shot every .2 seconds.
