Thunderbird_ 0 Posted December 4, 2001 Is there a parameter that can be changed to allow a person to stay connected even if they have a bad ping rate? It is pretty ridiculous to have someone get booted when their ping jumps to 300. I play with a couple of other people, two us are on cable and we ping around 8 to 18, the guy on "Always On Last" pings from 230 to 1000. He constantly gets kicked out. Thanks for the help. I have done searches, but have found nothing.
mahlkav 0 Posted December 4, 2001 I don't belive that he gets booted because of his ping... but his connection seems to be quite unstable, and he looses the connection to the server. What I'm trying to say is that it isn't the software kicking him off, but his Internet Service Provider
King Kong 0 Posted December 4, 2001 It could be the host.
Mister Frag 0 Posted December 4, 2001 Have him try the DSLReports Tweak Test at http://www.dslreports.com/tweaks to make sure there aren't any configuration problems with his TCP/IP stack. Ping times of 1000 are pathetic, either there is a configuration problem, he has really bad wiring, or his ISP needs to fix his connection.
Thunderbird_ 0 Posted December 4, 2001 Thanks men, It is probably his ISP. I was just wondering if the game was like others where the host can set a max latency to boot someone out/keep someone from getting booted out etc. If the game does not control this it must be the ISP. Seeing as how I am the host, I am pretty sure it is not me. Thanks again, Thunderbird (7E) USMC WPNS CO 3/
