airbornewarrior 0 Posted February 5, 2003 by the way, addon makers. if you go to 3dcafe you can download thousands of 3ds files that will import into oxygen and look pretty good. Eviscerator 0 Posted February 5, 2003 the large majority of them are unsuitable, they dont have LODs or they have too many polygons, or just dont work right in ofp (as the normals may get messed up on import), its a lot easier to make it yourself... Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
brsseb 0 Posted February 7, 2003 In my opininon, you can use free 3d models for ofp as long as you are honest with it and give credit to the original modeller/site you found it on. Its really not cheating, after all the more addons we get to play with in ofp the better. Its how the final addon works ingame and how fun it is to use that counts, not what the creator did to get it there (stolen property not included, of course). But intermediate or pro modellers do feel like they are cheating, since you download a model that would take hours of sweat and tears to make. And that gives you a kinda empty feeling. And besides, modelling is the "fun" part, isnt it . I prefear to make them all from scratch, but wont feel irritated if someone decides to convert a bunch of 3dcafe models. brsseb Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
