kar 1 Posted February 3, 2003 When I try to make an aimed shot at long range, I have a really annoying problem, the crosshairs skip a couple of pixels when I try to move it. If I am aiming slightly high and try to correct then I will end up with a slightly low aim instead. it is as if the crosshairs only can be aimed at certain points evry X number of pixels or so. This means that in some cases I can not get the crosshairs over a certain point what ever I do! I is the same when using a sniper rifle, with zoomed view, but as the target is much bigger (generally) I can still get a hit. lag/stutter, but no help. I have also tried turning all the graphic options to minimum, this made evrything happen faster, but the croshairs still skip X pixels from point to point. theavonlady 2 Posted February 3, 2003 Under OFP's OPTIONS on the main menu, there's a mouse sensitivity setting for X and Y axies. What are yours set to? To get them reset to default, edit file USERINFO.CFG in your OFP\Users\your_player_name\ subdirectory and delete the lines for mouseSensitivityX and mouseSensitivityY. Then restart OFP and they'll return to their default values of mouseSensitivityX=1.000000; mouseSensitivityY=1.000000; If that doesn't help, well, I assume you saw The FAQ article on "input delay" but nothing there helped. Muscular Beaver 0 Posted February 3, 2003 I have the same problem, I cant aim at every pixel. really annoying at long range with a g36. and I even have my mouse sensitivity at lowest setting
Mister Frag 0 Posted February 3, 2003 The Microsoft mouse driver has an option for enhancing the mouse pointer accuracy, but I had problems under XP Professional with weird mouse movement when that option was turned on. I'm not sure exactly what it is called in the Control Panel applet, but it doesn't seem to work well for games...

Try uninstalling your mouse drivers and installing MS's standard ones instead or see if your mouse manufacturer has newer drivers.
Placebo 29 Posted February 5, 2003 Do you have an optical mouse? I was given one last week as a leaving present from my old job and it doesn't like my shiney mouse mat and tends to act as if it has a mind of its own
Muscular Beaver 0 Posted February 7, 2003 nope, thats not the problem. I had 3 different mice (every time with a fresh installation of windows), and I had that skipping every single time. only in ofp. I dont suppose its the mouse, because its a 2000 dpi non-optical mouse right now. I had a intellimouse explorer optical 3 and a mouseman dual optical before and they did the same. as I said. when you try to aim at enemies from like 0 to 200m away, its not a problem at all and you wont notice it. when the enemy is about 300 to 800m away, it gets very hairy to get the enemy right into the crosshair because the control skips about 1 to 2 pixels (at 1600x1200). as I said before, this is a big problem when I have a g36 or steyr (with which you still can see the enemy quite well at bigger distances), sometimes even with an AK or M16.
