Us navy 737 attacked with hatchet

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

It really browns me off the amount of Anti-War campaigners here in europe, have people forgotten September 11, I HOPE NOT!!!

Anyway, Ireland is letting the US government use Shannon airport as a stop off and refuel base en-route to the gulf and for the last few weeks the place has been swarming with Anti-War Activists.

Just the other day some stupid cow attacked the nose-wheel, nose-wheel gear, electrics and hydraulics on a US Navy 737 at Shannon Airport causing half a million euro(same in dollars) of damage.

This is a perfect example of how out of touch these people are, in her stupid attempt to save the lives of Iraquis she could have killed about 100-200 US soldiers(being dramatic- badger!!wink.gif, not very acceptable if your a PEACE ACTIVIST.

I just want people to read this and give their views because I'm totally pissed off with these campaigners and think they should be the ones to be taken out and shot!!

So the real question here is:

Do Peace Activists go too far!!!

I think yes

Heres a realmedia stream of the story

No chance in hell that would have killed anyone. Not even the most incompetent of pilots would fail to notice that during their walkround checks, plus the caution lights flashing on in the cockpit. She shouldn't have done it, but you are overreacting in regards to this incident.

Please don't spread that around wink.gif

Now on the topic: I think her actions were irresponsible and that things like that only damage the peace movement. It doesn't accomplish anything but bad PR.

The damage the peace activists sometimes cause is not even close to what the things they try to stop causes.

But I agree that it often goes too far.

i'm just going on my experience, just about 2 months ago a guy from the same group of activists got onto the same runway and spraypainted anti-war slogans on a Hercules aircraft, this is vandalism also

of course I know thaty they're not all like that but the attitudes are the same, and they view war as out of the question NO-MATTER what anyone does, and there is not always a peaceful conclusion needed, democracy cannot solve everything

no one has foggotton it, but how many people will die in iraqi that dont deserve it many many times more than sep 11 just like in afgan. There have been much worse than sep 11 in the world in the past.

I'm not denying that ther have been worse atrocities but sept 11 was what spawned the War On Terror, ultimately leading to the current situation and the actions of Peace Activists(as is the topic of this)

That's just half a million Euros that won't be spent on pounding the shit out of people, in Iraq or Palestine. Good job. wow.gif

Now if only an activist did enough damage for 4B USD that is charged of Canadain softwood imports I would be laughing harder.

What I wonder is how the anti-war nuts would act if we didn't go to war and then Saddam actually uses wepons of mass destruction and kills a signifigantly large number of people. What if the whole thing would have been avoided if we went to war. What would they say then? War is never and option?, I think its often inevitable however unplesent it may be.

first, i don't give much support to Bush's current direction.

but such "activists" are also an asshole. their claim is "No war, yes peace" if they want to stick their claim they better live by it. and tresspassing and destroying other's property is not a peaceful solution nor is morally justifiable.

problem with these ppl is that they think going against status quo is ALWAYS justifiable. all they want is to bring the system down, but they have no solution.

what would be funny if there is no war and absolutly nothing happens. Why would he want to use a nuke, giving the world goood reason to turn his country and all its occupants into a crater would be guranteed. What if the US gets a computer viruse that lanuches all its nukes now thats just as likly.

Funny, I don't remember either Iraq or Saddam personally claiming responsibility for the WTC attacks.

Maybe that's why there wasn't as big a world backlash against US attacking Afghanistan as there is to attacking Iraq.

It's about time the US gets over S11 as an excuse to attack whoever they want.

Otherwise japan should be able to attack any western nation as retaliation to Hiroshima and Nagasaki (oh wait, that was during war, so that makes killing that many civilians OK).

That's pretty stupid considering nobody official is saying this has anything to do with 09/11.

Bushdoctrine 2.0 is a direct result of the actions of September 11th. Anyone who denies that is either incredibly naive or totally delusional.

The whole 'premptive' strike concept currently espoused by Bush and Co are influenced by the idea that being pro active is preferable to another 9/11. Of course, it ignores the fact that unwarranted aggression is just as criminal as say..Iraq invading Kuwait, or the USSR invading Afghanistan.

Mmm... I'm pretty sure that Bush tried to draw up some links during the SoU. The real reason why that statement is stupid is because 9/11 has only been used as a reason to attack one country, and is being used as a partial excuse to threaten another, bringing the total to 1.5 times 9/11 has been used in that way, if you count the second instance, which hasn't really even happened (yet). Hardly "whoever they want."

Major Fubar hasn't had a good word to say all night, I suggest changing your name to "Minor" Fubar because you are obviously afraid of war, and lose the quote "Let freedom ring with a shotgun blast!" from your signature because you are obviously a PEACE ACTIVIST gone horribly wrong
