lukemax 0 Posted January 27, 2003 Is it possible to put trains/Monorails or even subways in OFP? with scripts or something?
theavonlady 2 Posted January 27, 2003 Well, at least OFP is already set up so that they can go through houses.
bflidifyed 0 Posted January 27, 2003 i'd love to see that but the engine on the game is a bit lacking or sumthin like that cos the trains wouldn't stay on the tracks (i asked about this before) but even trains which didn't move would be cool!! a few stations and sum tracks make a pretty funky level and then go ridin the pedal bike down the tracks *thinks back to childhood* oh... wait i'm only 16 still sum time left i'm sane!! HONEST!!! hehehehehhe remember.... a train is for life, not just for christmas (i'm talkin poo now) dum dee dum dee dippaty doo dar!!! *thinks* THOMAS THE TANK ENGINE ON OFP!!! oooooo that'd be fun shoot the fat controler guy!! There was a moving train but the track ran straight as an arrow from one side of the map to the other.
Jamesia 0 Posted January 27, 2003 I thought lukemax was bragging that it was already in his city..... I presume it is possible. But it would have to be a vehicle and the railway line a road..... but then cars would drive along it......
hovmand 0 Posted January 27, 2003 There was a script once with some trucks moving like a train, cant remember who made it though.
Jamesia 0 Posted January 27, 2003 I think that BIS would be the only people that would add this to ofp, properly. similar to the way that they did the motorbike. to get fantastic trains ur best off waiting for the next major patch/ expansion pack (independance lost maybe?) ----------- EDIT with some addons we could start to get ofp train spotters! Guest #### Posted January 27, 2003 The only way this would really be possible is if the vehicle was a totally new class (BIS would have to define) and it had "tracks" that would act like a road for that vehicle type only and the coding would always force the vehicle to stay on the track. If the train was derailed it would have no ability to continue moveing and would effectively stop. it would also mean that turns would have to be very gradual instead of sharp like roads. I haven't downloaded that and i won't, but it shows how adaptable the ofp engine is. I beleive that the main thing that ofp needs (which would help with trains) is the ability to stand on moving vehicles, think bf1942 where you can stand on moving tanks, boats, jeeps, apcs, even flying planes! Airwolf 50 Posted January 28, 2003 yes, but even in 1942 it is possible to fall off, i have noticed that many a time while hopping on the b17 and jeeps. There needs to be a function that will allow the player to hang on, but still be able to fire the weapon, that way we can have a much better system of helicopter transportation. ~Too Tall~ 0 Posted January 28, 2003 also BIS should help the paratroopers out by allowing them to shoot back while in thier shoots. . .how many of u have jumped out of an aircraft and died as soon as u dit the dirt?. . .be nice to shoot back. . .im not sayin use an LAW in midair. . jsut the rifel. or even just the pistol
