Playing ofp in true widescreen...

Recommended Posts

Hi, Just wondered if anyone had been able to play OFP in widescreen?

I have a 16:9 projector, however all of the resolutions appear to be a normal 4:3 image, and can only be streched out (looks weird).

Has anyone been able to output a true widescreen or anamorphic signal?

cheers,

ons.

For starters, do you have a video card that supports a 16:9 aspect ratio? If the hardware can't do it, OFP won't be able to, either.

Beyond that, OFP enumerates the video modes supported by the hardware through Direct3D, so if you have a video card that offers a 16:9 resolution, OFP should allow you to select it.

If you are using screen with other than 4:3 aspect ratio, you need to change fovXxxx lines in your UserInfo.cfg. For 16:9 I suggest using:

fovLeft = 1.3333

fovTop = 0.75

You might also consider adjusting 2D zone by changing, but this is optional, use it only if you do not want 2D elements to use your whole screen.

uiTopLeftX=0.166667;

uiTopLeftY=0.000000;

uiBottomRightX=0.833333;

uiBottomRightY=1.000000;

It's the greek letter Sigma and in math it's the symbol for 'sum'.
