Mister Frag 0 Posted January 8, 2003 And while you are at it, does the EAX setting have any impact on the crackling when switching between 1st Person and 3rd Person? In other words, does the crackling not happen if EAX is disabled?

Switching from first to third person always get's rid of the crackling for the particular vehicle. EDIT: Switching from 1st to 3rd and back get's rid of the crackling that you can already hear. If you switch at low engine rpm, your crackling will still occur for the higher rpm. That's how mine doesn't work.
benu 1 Posted January 8, 2003 I thought turning hw acceleration down turns off eax (and other things) anyway?
von_paulus 0 Posted January 8, 2003 I think there is no solution to this problem, unless creative develops new drivers for our sound cards. It's not an hardware issue, IRQ's conflicts, Operation Flashpoint issue, or whatever. I work in a computer store and tried to solve this out, a couple of months ago. I used the same hardware except the sound cards (I used different Creative Live soundcards). With some cards the crackling sound was unbearable, while others like mine (CT4760) the sound is crackling but bearable. This with the same drivers version (the last one). Only with the Audigy, it seemed that everything was ok. And this doesn't happen only with OFP, a lot of games, also suffer with the same crackling noise. So, or creative launchs a new set of drivers for Windows XP, or I'm afraid, we'll have to buy a new soundcard. Â
nyles 11 Posted January 8, 2003 ...which will definetly not be a creative-made one again.
