Face2FacePunk27 0 Posted January 2, 2003 Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis runs fine on my machine. Â The only problem occurs when I try quit a multiplayer game. Â Whenever I quit it freezes. Â Why does it do this and how can I fix it?
TheBrain 0 Posted January 2, 2003 Maybe you should add more details about your system settings. Modem, ISDN card, ADSL, Network card, CPU, graphic card, ram etc. Do you use a firewall? Do you play in the internet or on a local network?

Face2FacePunk27 0 Posted January 2, 2003 I read that thread before, but it wasn't very helpful. I am also forced to ctrl+alt+del to quit before the game locks up to quit from a MP game. It does it on any MP game, lan or internet. Here are some details about my machine, but I'm not the smartest about computers so I don't know exactly what you need to know. 1.6 GHz Pentium 4 512MB DDR SDRAM 80GB Hard drive 32 MB TNT2 I hope that is useful and thanks for the reply Brain. TheBrain 0 Posted January 2, 2003 Sorry, I have no further idea at this moment. Which operating system do you use (98, ME, XP)? Maybe someone else can help you. If not, you may want to write an eMail to BIS (OFP developers). See this for details.
deady 0 Posted January 2, 2003 Are you using ZoneAlarm?
Face2FacePunk27 0 Posted January 2, 2003 I operate on Windows XP. I don't know what ZoneAlarm is, but I don't think I have it. Again, thanks for taking the time to try and help me.
Mister Frag 0 Posted January 2, 2003 Have you installed all available Service Packs and Hotfixes?
Face2FacePunk27 0 Posted January 2, 2003 Yes, I routinely check to make sure my Windows has all the needed updates.
toadeater 0 Posted January 3, 2003 I tried both Resistance and Cold War Crisis multiplayer a few minutes ago. Resistance worked fine, Cold War Crisis crashed. Maybe this has something to do with Gunslinger's 1.02 editor addon? I get an error about this addon requiring version 1.75 when starting Cold War Crisis, but the game starts up anyway, and I can join an MP game, just can't press quit or OFP locks up. The addon is internally defined to require version 1.75 or higher. So, when you start OFP 1.46 or earlier and this addon is inspected on startup by OFP, it issues a message window informing you that the addon will not be used. Mister Frag 0 Posted January 3, 2003 That should be easy to test and eliminate as a possible cause of the problem, though.
toadeater 0 Posted January 4, 2003 I checked today. Addons didn't seem to make a difference. The strange thing is, OFP didn't crash anymore, even after I put the editor addon back.
Face2FacePunk27 0 Posted January 4, 2003 So did you reinstall? If I do that is there a chance it may fix that problem?
