amelinda 0 Posted June 21, 2018 Firerate of the minigun is extrmely low. i was testing the pawnee and i noticed that in 1 minute you have an average of 1600 rounds shot. but you also have 2 miniguns on the pawnee that means 800 rounds/minute. now remember that the real minigun fires 6000rounds a minute. so you're telling me that a game which is supposed to be a simulator has a gun that fires 7.5x less bullets than its real life version? please fix this. When you join a forum, maybe do some research first and get acquainted with the community and not start immediately with criticism and know-it-all attitude. I think it's the polite way to go. To answer your question: - It is because of game engine limitations that it is currently impossible to spawn thousands of bullets per minute, especially when multiple vehicles or soldiers are in a scene - I think besides the true in game firing rate the game is already using a trick with spawning one bullet, but deducting three from your ammo kind, to fake a higher firing rate. - Arma 3 is not supposed to be a simulator, it's an entertainment game with some realistic aspects. BI calls it an 'authentic game', not simulation or realistic. All current 3D games are full of tricks and inconsistencies to make us believe we are in a real world. When you look closer at almost any aspect, like the minigun in this case, you will begin to see flaws.
Rich_R 1087 Posted June 22, 2018 There is so much to this game, features not found in any other title on the market. Essentially, you have to join the US military to use any program close to Arma. I’m amazed that ‘players’ choose to pick on the smallest details and then demand an immediate fix to fit their perception or preference. Stunning.
Macser 776 Posted June 22, 2018 I think the developers are well aware of the real world ROF. As joostsidy mentioned, It's likely a conscious decision to avoid bullet spam, for the potential effect on performance. Changes like that are best left to modders if there's genuine interest in it.
