Resistance stories.

Could we add a story section to OFP:R forums?

I thought it might be cool to have a section where users could submit there own little OFP:R war story/diary.  I've seen this done for another game and I thought it was cool.  Some people would tell about an ambush or patrolling a mountain region etc.   Some people have like daily diaries they submitt of a soldier or series to the story etc.

What you think?

sounds good to me...fop allows us so many situations that it would be nice to share them with others

Midas well tell stories in here to a get jump on it smile.gif

Multiplayer, map was Battlefield 1985. Geniously scripted with a new style interphase when you respawn. It's like a menu selection to choose weapons and ammo before respawn. And it lets you choose your respawn location. (You can respawn in friendly town.

Well, here's my story:

I spawn with and M16, 4 mags, and 3 LAW's. Myself and a teammate board a chinook. I fly high to start and swoop down for some speed. Heading out from the northern part of the island, I fly to the airport. We drop SE of it. We regroup, move in jumping from cover to cover. Once we get close enough we start scanning. I spot a guy on a roof then *whizz* a bullt goes right next to me. I get up and scramble over a hill. I get down and my buddy was right next to me. He took out a guyas he came over. We wait a moment then I peek my head over the hill. a few seconds later (and a few close calls) I got the sniper. Then my buddy got another one on another roof. We proceed to move in taking out guys as they come and respawn in the middle of the airport.

I got into a building and was able to control it for long enough it became ours. As I was doing this, sadly my buddy got hit. But re-inforcements on our team were coming. They arrived and we were able to hold it, getting apaches and doing our best to nail SU25s' with AA. In the end...

We siezed the airport!

Okay Ixian tell your stories. And Ixian, really, shut up. We can't tell something that happened with a little more effect? Or should we completly make them up?

BTW, my story did happen, but I modified it a bit for effect tounge.gif

I meant stories that you make up based off OFP not game recounts.

That was a recount with stuff made up. What's so wrong with that? Even in real life some books and movies are based off of real events.

****NEWS FLASH FROM THE FRONT LINES OF THE WAR IN VIETNAM. Febuary 10th, 1968. 4:10 P.M EST.

Staff reporter:

Yesterdays attack on  North Vietnamise LZ [landing zone] called Columbus went well thanks to two Army Huey ARA helos. They made quick work of the hot LZ that was about to be seized by a platoon of U.S. army troops. At least three mortor positions were ellininated along with three squads of NVA troops. A heavy machine gun emplacement made for a rough few moments for our boys in the sky. No anti air was present thankfully. Time was short becuse the LZ had to be cleared within about 5 minutes of the Huey's entry in to the battle zone. The order was given the "not a man or machine will be left standing for the U.S. troops on the ground to encounter". It took at least 50 rockets from both helos and all the machine gun armament from that same ship to take the North. Our fighting men were luckey this time. Time. Thats a funny word becuase a source within the Army top brass tells us that The North Vietnamise are starting to use AA guns more and more in this area of the war zone. Yes here in the already blood stained world of Vietnam its about to get a whole lot more deadly on both sides.

****NEWS FLASH FROM THE FRONT LINES OF THE WAR IN VIETNAM. Febuary 11th, 1968. 2:10 P.M EST.

Staff reporter:

We are with a platoon of soldiers as they move into the "hills of the Northern part of the battle zone. During these next few months we'll be taking you the reader inside the minds and hearts of our boys in green as they handle life on patrol. We'll cover the airmen, the helo pilots, the medievac choppers and ambulances. We'll even go with some M60 tank commanders as they patrol and "clear" the villiges of the Southeastern part of the battlezone. My canteen is full, my body armor is on, and I'm ready to bring you the war in Vietnam as it happens. Don't you miss it. END.

It's a cloudy night, myself and my squad had been on a contact patrol all day. Total movement was close to 10 miles that 1st Battalion 3rd Marines had covered. We were the lead element of 1st Plt. Bravo Co. The opfor for the exercise was a reduced Alpha Co. As the sun began to set, we set up a checkpoint at the front of the battalions area on a narrow portion of the road between two near cliff faces. Later in the night, it was my turn to stand saw watch. I gave the previous watch my m16a2 and took control of the m249 saw. About 10 minutes into my watch, my mind started playing triks on me, I could swear that I heard a swishing noise in the bushes as if somebody was sneaking in on my pos. Another 5 minutes later, the night came alive with about a squad running up the road shouting "burger king". "Burger king" had been the running password for the previous day. This quickly registered in my mind and I yelled out "That's yesterdays password bitch!" as I pulled the trigger and lit up the approaching opfor. As they ran past I could hear the distinctive sound of buzzing MILES gear. After my hour of watch was up, I hit the sack. Throughout the rest of the night, the opfor probed our defenses.
