Guest Posted December 6, 2002 ChupChup has made some awesome scripts for explosions, burning, igniting, smoke, smouldering etc. They will allow you to blow up just about anything WITH just about anything. This can give you some amazing chain reaction explosions. The following explosion was set off using just one trigger on one barrel...but it would have worked just by shooting a barrel (or a ammo box, or a truck   ) The shots here cover about a 3 minute period. Enjoy. Scripts coming soon.

hovmand 0 Posted December 6, 2002 YES!! This is one of the things i love most about Flashpoint, stuff blowing up. Awesome!!
Ruskiesrule 0 Posted December 6, 2002 how long till you upload the script? It'll be so much fun! Can i attach this script to somthing like a teliphone, or even a seagul? Hehe!
Guest Posted December 7, 2002 Seagulls might be tricky, but telephone...sure...why not. Don't answer that call! Scripts are being fine tuned at the moment...so long as you have the object name, and give each object you want to have scripts active in a name, it will work. Release is being delayed until 1.91 patch....there are rumours of a getTypeObject command...which may improve the script even more. So until ChupChup has had a good look at that it won't be released...as we want to release premium explosive product only
Balschoiw 0 Posted December 7, 2002 That is nothing really new. If you play around with the drop sample BIS implemented in Resistance you see that only the smoke trail has been lengthened. I bet it is a big performance killer.
Ruskiesrule 0 Posted December 7, 2002 you mean this needs resistance? Damn!
Guest Posted December 7, 2002 Yeah...BIS introduced (or made available?) certain cmds that were not there in 1.46 or lower...and these scripts will make use of them....sorry if that inconviences anyone, but that's how it goes. Seriously have a good think about saving up and buying Resistance...it's well worth it. I've bought expansion packs for all sorts of games...and this is easily one of the best (in terms of what it adds to the game...it's not just another campaign you know )
Silent N Deadly 0 Posted December 7, 2002 Wow...I can't Wait to Try this! Keep Up the good Work. Looks really cool!
Ruskiesrule 0 Posted December 7, 2002 i think they should lower the price for resistance, and give us 1.46 or whatevers bridges and pistols for free! I really don't care for better graphics. My computer struggles to play some of the ofp missions anyways, but i'm quite nifty and making my missions very friendly to my low specs.
habdoel 0 Posted December 7, 2002 and what about the bumping airplanes? Nogova? ingame browser? get resistance now
Ruskiesrule 0 Posted December 8, 2002 ok, i'll ask for it for x-mas. But only if sombody tells me everything i'll got other than scripts! Would be nice if you told me! And i'll never use nogova, my computer probubly won't be able to run the citys. But for some reason it can run them very large towns on the Sarugao map! USMC Sniper 0 Posted December 8, 2002 The cities in Nogova are very small, your PC probably would be able to handle them. BTW, that fire script looks absolutely amazing! Balschoiw, it won't be a performance hog, try this: 1)DL the CAT fire pack 2)Go anywhere on any map and place 10 housefires about 100m apart from each other. Remeber to include this inflame true. I did this, and my framerate went down about 4 frames. If I went very close to them, it dropped like hell. However, I did this on Nogova, and the CATfires are HUGE! Guest Posted December 8, 2002 The script coding is currently being refined to maximise frame-rate and minimise CPU usage. Test machines are a (1) P3 800 with a TNT2, and (2) P3 667 with a Geforce4 MX440. On (1) the version shown in the screenshots ran at about one frame every 2-3 seconds....it now runs at around 5FPS...not great, but playable. Chuggy..yes..but only because there are a LOT of barrels, ammo crates etc in the map....not because of the scripting. On (2) it runs better....not suprisingly Other refinments include dropping one script out of the loop, and compensating with an algorithim...and it looks better for it. Ruskiesrule 0 Posted December 8, 2002 i have some friends who are good programmers, and they've looked at ofps game engin and words such as "mess", "tangle" came up! They said a few things and even tried some things on their pc. However it results in F.A.D.E, but we got some nice extra speed! But i'd rather have 5fps with an m60 and your explosions, than 8fps with a rifle that cant hit the side of a barn!
Guest Posted December 10, 2002 Scripts are currently being tweaked so they look as good as possible on all (official) vehicles, land, air and sea. Anticipated release is in the form of a pack, containing the scripts and a demo mission or two....as well as clear instructions on how to use and edit them. For even the most basic scripter it should just be a matter of naming an object, chucking something in the init field, and editing a script to suit your particular mission (which won't be 100% necessary...but will reduce chug on your machine). So just to tease you all a little bit more...enjoy

Guest Posted December 21, 2002 ChupChup is waiting for the FINAL release of the 1.91 patch..or whatever they are going to call it. The 1.91 BETA seems to be a bit buggy...even though it has the getType Object command....and it the command that he is waitiing for, to try and improve the scripts with. Also it is currently being optimised for various vehicles, which involves a certain amount of testing, checking arrays, blah blah blah...you get the idea. We want to release it once, and once only....not have to fix things, bring out updates and all that mucking about! I'm sure you'll agree that it is worth the wait
