By attacking Iraq and setting up a puppet regime you will create a whole lot of antisentiments of the worlds muslims. The regions authoritarian regimes (supported by US) will have a hard time fighting off revolts and unrest. yes we get to vote Maybe i didnt word it right Not allowed to openlly comment or put down polices. also the us does not force regimes on nations they are given a chance to choose. In afganistan the king was brought back from exile. The choice is up the liberated country. Do you believe that the average Iraqie has any input into the running of his counrty. Truely free people are allowed to choose. A truely free society would be chaos. But let the people speak and be heard. More then half of Iraq cannot read or write, Where are the childrens programs. There are 11million mines on the ground in Iraq Do the children play around or in the mine fields. I have been a combat engineer for 6 years been all over the world Kids dying for no reason is Bull**** Gasing your own people BULL**** But go ahead a let Saddam stay in power the nations that failed to support this war will be responsible for his WMD being used on his neighbors and his own people mad.gif

Bush has obviously made his mind up, nothing Iraq could do now would stop a war. Even if Iraq handed over it's entire (alleged) secret stash of WMD, America would still bomb them to teach them a lesson.

What can they do? If they really do have WMD, don't you think the USA bombing the crap out of them might force them to use them, either on their neighbours or on US itself?

Just give the UN a chance FFS, maybe they haven't acted as decisively or quickly as America might have wanted, but it's a better option than initiating an illegal war.

Fuuny thing is if Iraq did somehow smuggle a WMD into America as retaliation for a US attack, all the Bush supporters would feel vindicated and say "see, we told you so!". confused.gif

The former king is only allowed back in the country. He is of no importance and is in today's populare rethoric - irrelevant. And how can you say Afghanistan is liberated? From Taliban yes - but look what they got instead? The same feud fights between rouge war lords that terrorized the country before Taliban seized power. Actually, that is the reason Taliban came to power in the first place!

And besides, do you think it is right to "force" democracy on anyone who has a different system? Wouldn't you call that etnocentric?

No I don't! But if the general iraqi man and woman could choose between Saddam staying in power - or an american invasion, they would not choose the latter alternative. You see, for most iraqi there would be nothing worse than going back to colonial times. They sort of have a hard time forgeting the brittish rule through their "puppet" king Feisal. No wonder the first thing Saddam did when he seized power was to throw out British Petroleum.
