The Sharpshooter 0 Posted November 27, 2002 Hi, I have this heli, and when it is on the ground (i.e. when placed in the editor) it bounces a little but more than a normal heli. The same happens when it lands. Could this be a problem with the Geometry LOD ? Any clue what might be ?
VXR 9 Posted November 27, 2002 did you add enoug mass to the geometry lod?
The Sharpshooter 0 Posted November 27, 2002 And how much would be "enough" ?
brsseb 0 Posted November 28, 2002 a few thousand, maybe like 5000-10000. experiemnt. also, try to shift the wheight around a little, experiment with the position of the center of gravity. try setting to lower, and more nearer the center of teh skids to make it sit stable brsseb
The Sharpshooter 0 Posted November 28, 2002 Thanks to both fo you. Especially brsseb for his tutorials After a lot of testing I arrived to the conclusion that it will always bounce, no matter what I do. I think it´s because of the positions of the helicopter´s landing gears that it will always bounce. And I cannot change them without making the model unrealistic. matyboy 0 Posted February 11, 2003 Hi martin I had a problem like that, playing around with a new model in Geometry LOD remove the skids that you have. and recheck centre of mass it should be some were between the skids under the main rotor shaft. that might stop the problem. martin....... Guest BratZ Posted February 11, 2003 Martin? Heyas Helicopter class is most bouncy, from my experiments it needs enough mass to help the bounce And moving/playing with Geometry like Martin said And you also said that it bounces too much when placed with the editor.I was curious how high from the centerline you placed your model in O2? So why should this matter?
Guest BratZ Posted February 13, 2003 Dunno he said it bounces when he placed using the editor, for that matter than why would it matter if he placed it with the editor or spawned one ,dunno? I've played with helicopter class using it as a turret. If it has no mass,it will fly away upon bumping it,if you weigh it down enough,it wont move
TYsiEK 0 Posted February 15, 2003 You must make a ONE VERTEX gear ( i mean one vertex for PRAVY KOLO selection name) in land contact area. One gear couldn't be as a model. It should be as a one vertex. If you make this then it will works. Sorry for my bad English
