Ex-RoNiN 0 Posted November 23, 2002 To my knowledge, there aren't any PowerDVD and WinDVD are the best, contact them and ask them if you can have a cheap student's version or something
MesserJockel 0 Posted November 23, 2002 www.tiasoft.de micro dvd player; freeware and the divx codec isnt much help when viewing a svcd... i generally use bsplayer for all formats, it is small, has all features (like subs, dual sound etc) and has crashed only once in the whole time i use this player, also freeware btw. hmm i cannot find any url, there was no readme attached... or i deleted it. take a look via google for bplay or bsplay, great tool. SKULLS_Viper 0 Posted November 23, 2002 My computer came with WinDVD 2000(free from Gateway), and i recently tryed NVDVD 2.0 , and you can only use it for 14 days, and then you have to give "Billing info" , what ever that is, and the dont even tell how much(sneeky)!I dont want to risk it.Although its cool, and more features, i think my WinDVD is fine... SKULLS_Viper 0 Posted November 23, 2002 Oh and on some DVD movies, it comes with free DVD player software.I think Intervision, or Interaction its called?Although i hear it causes problems to.
Warin 0 Posted November 23, 2002 You could also check the discs that came with your video card. In a lot of cases they include a DVD player, as long as it's not more than 2 years old.
Jester983 0 Posted November 24, 2002 power dvd is by far the best. i seriously recommend it. Try what warin said that should have what you need.
FSPilot 0 Posted November 24, 2002 As far as I know, if your computer has a DVD-CDROM, it should come with a default player.

pide2020 0 Posted November 25, 2002 cheers all - ive borrowed WinDVD from my neighbour, so everything is sorted - dvd's watched so far: crouching tiger- 10/10 oceans eleven- barely watchable pearl harbour- too much love story not enough planes, although it does have sgt eversmann, and that other guy who was in charge of the convoy from BHD which makes it ok :-) Tomb Raider- for babies Sword Fish- standard american trash- apart from those big lifting choppers- the ones we had here in australia for the bushfires which are cool Black Hawk Down - really good, although the more i read up on it the more i think they left out, downside is it is too one sided- the american side thanks for your help, im off to blockbusters again
