Questions on identifying weapons in movies

Recommended Posts

The minigun used in the movie "Predator" was 100% real (as are most firearms in movies that are actually shown being fired) The ones that are not actually fired on film are sometimes fake.

The minigun from "Predator" was owned by a California firearms dealer/rental agency that routinely rented weapons to "Hollywood"....The RIDICULOUS overbearing gun laws in California eventually caused them to decide to sell off their stock and close shop.

That particular minigun sold for something like 25 thousand dollars.

Here are links to some cool pics from Bullet Fest III for you guys to view ("Bullet Fest" is a couple days of fun in the sun where people get together in Ohio to do some shooting, and have some barbeque)

Most of the firearms in these pics are privately owned, civillian registered machineguns....and some of them are owned by ClassIII manufacturers who brought them by to let folks have some fun with them.

You will notice someone had a 7.62 minigun in attendance (it made very short work of an old car)

That looks like a Desert Eagle, if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah, it says the name right on the gun.<span id='postcolor'>

well duh lol. I just posted it because it is incredibly badass, but if I started a whole new thread for it it would be closed. So, I found a way to fit it into this thread

I suppose that works.  Although, if you had to name your favourite pistol, which would it be?  Personally, I'd take a Walther P99.  Nice.

Most of the people dont look like they are trustworthy carrying weapons. At least some have the weight to fire a tank gun without being in danger of getting pushed back cause of the recoil...

That's a pretty ridiculous statement.

I can assure you ...everyone pictured is a responsible, law abiding gun owner.

At least some have the weight to fire a tank gun without being in danger of getting pushed back cause of the recoil...

LOL biggrin.gif  Yes, a couple of those boys ARE quite large arent they?  But last I checked, there is no law against that (it may not be healthy... but if someone chooses to "let themselves go"...they have every right) ...........Just so they stay away from my food

Also these pictures only cover about 1/3 of the crowd in attendance....they came from private pic collections of people who were there, and mostly took pictures of what happened to be close to them.

ANYWAY...I posted these so that some of you could see the firearms that were there...not the people.

There are alot of weapons there that are in OFP (AKs, M16s, an MG42, A MORTAR, M60s, 30cal machineguns, ect. ect.) .....oh yes....and the MINIGUN

It's time to take Ol' Painless out of the bag!  wink.gif

madmedic is right, the terminator 2 and predator miniguns were real, and the same minigun was used in both films.

My favorite pistol? I'd say the Colt 1911 and Beretta 92FS are the best pistols around, the colt for its reliability and punch and the beretta for its coolness. smile.gif
