AMRAAM's? On a STRIKE eagle?

Sure it can equip em but that's not the point,if you want realism :

strike eagle (F15E): ground attack

normal eagle (F15C) : air to air

In a real conflict strike eagles would be too busy to bomb the crap out of everything to consider their alternative capability.

(Hey,they were too busy to use their LANTIRN for the british tornado's in the gulf )

umm, no

they can and usually do carry AMRAAMs, even when on a strike mission and also did you know that the F-15E equipped for CAP missions is more maneuverable than an F-15C equipped with the same stuff? guess not

Thats not true Frisbees the F-15E does carry the Amraam Aim-120 and theres a fighter squadron that does use the F-15E the F-15E isnt just a ground attack its a Strike Fighter now ask yourself does the F-18 have air to air missles does the F-16 have air to airs Think before you make stupid comments

incase u all wondered why all the images are too dark..well i dont know why..but it could possibly be the fact that we're using the exact paint scheme the F-15E has...just like in this image:

OK...another update..

We did some tests..and that is ONE POWERFULL BOMB!

me and NAA US Marine had blast playing with it..

Oh , and IT IS a Laser Guided Bomb (LGB) and it works. U can fire it from any angle , and it will change its course for a direct hit. It has amazing accuracy if u line up well .

I was able to hit a target from 2000 meters.

looking at this pic it seems like the missiles are too small.

anyways í´m glad to hear, that things are working good.

how does the ai handle dropping LGBs? because i think a plane- addon is like the half it, if the ai wont use it properly.

I retract that comment,just looked back on the things I knew of the gulf war,they carried sidewinders there as self defense.

But in a war situation they'd hardly be used for escort,since their LANTIRN makes them more useful to ground attack.

I wasn't saying that it COULDN'T carry AMRAAM's,just that it wouldn't be carrying as its main armament in an actual conflict.

And yeah,it was a stupid comment looking back on it,sorry,have to refrain from commenting at 4.00 am

About AI using it...they would treat it like a gravity bomb..they would dive bomb a target.

In the case the of the AGM-130, i watched an AI blow him self out of the air cause he was too low when he dived bomb. The bomb is powerful...maybe a little too much..we will reduce by 25% or and see how it goes.

I dropped the AGM-130 from 3500 meters from a hieght of 900 meters and got a direct hit. its pretty sweet.i love watching it glide to its target and BAAM.

Please give suggestions on what u would like to see on it..in the limits of OFP.

Cluster bombs would be nice but difficult to do. Perhaps making them something like the G8 Tornado's MW-1 (what they call a JP-233 but it isn't) sub-munition dispenser? Just a thought unless somehow a bomb can be made that breaks away into smaller bomblets, but I don't think that's possible in the OFP engine. Anyways, just something to maybe tinker with. Other then that... a HUD would be nice if it's not already in there (sorry I didn't read the earlier posts so my apologies if it's alraedy in). Hmmm... well...just like others said, just make it where the AI uses it well and where it fly's reasonably well. If you could get it to fly as well as the G8 Tornado, that would be sweet, as the Tornado I think is one of the best handling aircraft that I've seen in OFP so far.

nuke or not: if the plane drops those bombs from a dive, it would make no sence to add the f15 powerful bombs or even a nuke.

why dont you guys try to use some entries from the a10lgb config to make the plane drop those bombs like the a10 does?

if that´d work, you could even let the ai drop nukes, since version 1.85 allow planes to accept the "flyinheight" order.

i've got a question... is it possible to make one of the LCD things in the cockpit like a different view? for example have it look 45 degrees down or something like that to give it an idea of the FLIR or DLIR (i dunno what the 15E has)

Good question! It would be possible if, when you pressed V, it stayed at the regular view... but the screen is transparent so you can see through it and down on the ground.
