How many polygons....

Recommended Posts

What is the max count of polygons that a new model can have in OFP?

Im a bit confused here, someone told me the blackhawk of the full game has 20000 while someone else told me 1500, personally I think the 1500 would be right, but Im not sure.

So can anyone answer this question? confused.gif

Thanks.

Blackhawk does have 1500 faces and 1900 points.

You must separe the LODs, used for someone who is staying outside the helicopter and the View-pilot (cargo) that is showed when u are pilot-gunner-cargo

As far as I know LOD in OFP is only limited by DirectX8.1

so max number of polys is 65536

View-Pilot +-900

1 LOD 500 max

2 lod = 1lod polycount/2

3 lod = 2lod polycount/2

polycount = +-80 thenn made 2sided plane with gun texture and model just few parts

last lod = just plane with gun texture

i try tu pru more explainng picture somewhere tommorow

This is last but one LOD and only things that are 3D are the RGB.

Lol it wasnt taco-shop, it was packed bagetta on shooting range sad.gif

I was there with some israeli guys shooting UZI and it ROCKS!  biggrin.gif

So the advice is: Never buy food on shooting range.

Thanks for the images! I guess those LODs are used very very far away. Will they even need the 3d parts? I suppose the gun would just be 1 pixel on the screen!

BTW, I'd love to try an Uzi! Unfortunately my country is like a kindergarden, regarding firearms: "no, you can't touch that, it's too dangerous. Now go play some football". So only the criminals have guns wow.gif
