Public Persistent Insurgency Server PVE [Proposal/Discussion]

Looking to get a general consensus on what the desire is for a persistent insurgency server. A rough breakdown on what I am looking at:

 

20-30 player limit (to start)

Mostly vanilla (3 mods at most)

Public

Using a 8km by 8km portion of Altis (keep area contained, considering there is no friendly blufor..just players)

PVE 

Persistent

Powered by ALiVEs insurgency game mode

 

Essentially you could jump in at any time, make a squad (using BI's dynamic group function), select weapons and gear, and do anything you want in the area of operations. Build FOB, perform recon, talk to civilians, ect. 

 

Main goal is to again, keep it as vanilla as possible but still enforce challenging gameplay. IE, limited supplies, limited vehicles, long respawn times, ect ect. 

 

If you'd be interested as just a player, please post. If interested in more, shoot me a pm or post in here as well. I got a mission essentially made for this, just looking to see if there would be support.

with a 3 mod limit, im hoping thats ALiVE, ACE, and TFAR/ACRE? that i think should be the core, VCOM_AI is also super amazing at keeping the AI from being too dumb. i love insurgency missions, and a persistent one would be amazing.

TFAR and ALiVE would be the two at first. I don't think ACE adds anything that is a must have. Arma's basic medical system does pretty well itself. Arma's base comms is horrible, so TFAR would be needed. If someone could make a solid case for ACE I could listen.

 

ASR AI would be the server AI mod, not needed on client side.

I would strongly suggest against any AI mods when using over 100 AI. I have done many tests on this with and without HC. Sadly none of them are documented, but using ~500 ai the HC CPS was more than twice as slow with AI mods. May be worth re-doing these tests as there have been some updates to the mods as well as ArmA.

I think the players freedom should be more limited in the regard of the Dynamic Group Function.

Do you really think it's better to give the player the free choice of making their own squads with no pre-assigned roles? I think that's too much freedom and using the pre-made squads and roles would work better.

This way it would also be easier to manage how many snipers etc. there are. However you could always go through the trouble of setting up a robust system, similar to the one in PR or TACBF, using the InventoryClosed eventhandler.

 

 

I really wonder how this would work with only vanilla.

Any mods like ACRE 2 or ACE 3?

Do you plan on including the apex DLC weapons?
Will the mission be limited by player supplies?

Do you plan on having some players in the opfor team?
